This theoretical behavior is characterized by constancy of the transmission-related parameter for any frequency of the electromagnetic radiation, wherein each resistance value has associated therewith a constant transmission-related parameter. The baseline function is formed by calculating the constant transmission-related parameter value for each of plural resistance values in the theoretical model. Patent number: 7114764Abstract: Many military land vehicles are not designed to withstand extreme forces concomitant exploding mines. A vehicle's capacity to protect its occupants is inventively enhanced by structurally augmenting the vehicle, in lower structural portions closely related to the vehicle's cabin, with both elastomeric and rigid (non-elastomeric) materials. An elastomeric layer and a rigid layer (typically embodied as a metal or composite sheet or plate) are added to the vehicle in each of seven locations, viz., the four wheel wells (left-front, right-front, left-rear, right-rear), the two floorboards (left and right), and the intervening underside area. At each wheel well and floorboard location, the elastomer is sandwiched between the vehicle's existing rigid structure and the rigid member so as to form a tri-layer material system. Patent number: 6192541Abstract: A dynamic ramp interface system to allow a roll-on/roll-off (RORO) ship to unload and load onto a pier, floating storage facility, or other ship during high sea states. The dynamic ramp interface system includes a motion compensation damping system attached to a first platform, a first ramp also attached to the first platform leading up to the motion compensation damping system, and second ramp that is hingedly connected to a second platform and also leading to the motion compensation damping system. The motion compensation damping system includes a top plate, a bottom plate, a series of interconnected hollow bladders, and a pivot support structure. Through this arrangement, the top plate is allowed to pivot relative to the bottom plate, with the bladder system providing a damping effect. The first ramp is slideably in communication with the top plate by means of a set of articulated fingers. Patent number: 4746955Abstract: A color filter interpositioning mechanism for use in an electrophotographic print mechanism which uses motor driven pulleys to move a belt which is located directly beneath a grooved track into which the color filter assemblies are inserted. The belt contains spaced apart holes which are brought beneath the color filter assemblies, by the rotation of the belt about the pulleys, thus allowing a spring loaded pin, attached to each filter, to fall through a slot in the grooved track and into the hole. The filter assembly is then drawn down the track and into an optical path. A sensor detects when the filter is properly positioned in the optical path and signals the motor to stop.
