  • Publication number: 20160116960
Abstract: A method of managing power state transitions for a computing system based on the proximity of a user may include determining a location of a mobile device, determining a distance between the location of the mobile device and a location of a computing system to determine whether the mobile device is located within a first threshold distance from the computing system, and in response to determining that the mobile device is located within the first threshold distance from the computing system, transitioning the computing system from a first power state to a second power state.

  • Patent number: 8872924
Abstract: An apparatus and method provides an automated mechanism for configuring a position arrangement of displays in a group of displays, such as a display grid. The apparatus and method uses an image capture unit, such as a camera to capture an image of the entire display grid while test patterns are being provided. In one example, a first device outputs the test patterns to the display grid while a second device that includes the camera analyzes the captured images and determines whether a display in the display grid needs to be logically remapped to provide proper image display when the first device outputs full SLS frames in normal operation.

  • Publication number: 20130155097
Abstract: A method and apparatus for creating one or more themed user interfaces (UI) each capable of displaying content unique to the theme selected. This may allow the use of the one or more display configurations for themed content. A device may be associated with a UI, which is capable of displaying content. One or more display configurations associated with one or more themes may be created. Upon selection of a particular theme, content specific to the particular theme is displayed via the associated display configuration.

  • Publication number: 20130155101
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and system for providing an image for display on a monitor. A method for providing an image for display includes detecting an exclusive display mode. In the exclusive display mode, an application is blocked from display on a monitor. In response to detecting the exclusive display mode, a composited surface is generated that comprises display data of a blocked application surface and display data of an exclusive application surface. A disclosed system includes a display mode detector that detects an exclusive display mode and a surface compositing module that causes a generation of a composited surface.

  • Patent number: 8051435
Abstract: Software for dynamically previewing changes to hardware driver settings for a graphics adapter is disclosed. Changes to the driver settings are dynamically previewed by forcing an executable graphics program module to load hardware parameter settings as changed, and drawing a region reflecting the changes using the executable graphics program library. The graphics program module may be forced to load new settings as a result of being newly instantiated. Conveniently, a preview region reflecting changes may be drawn in place of an already existing preview region.

  • Publication number: 20080126958
Abstract: To operate a computer, a first graphical user interface of a server application is displayed in a first display region, which has user interface elements for presenting output from the server application and receiving runtime user input to the server application. A second display region is also provided, in which graphical user interfaces are provided. The second display region has a defined location and may be a sidebar. In response to user interaction with the first graphical user interface, a first user interface element is selected from the first graphical user interface. The first user interface element presents a type of output from the server application or receiving a type of input to the server application. Further, a client application is configured to display a second graphical user interface in the second display region, such that the second graphical user interface includes a second user interface element corresponding to the first user interface element.
