Patent number: 10746632Abstract: A system for sampling of plant product is provided that comprises a mobile platform, at least one primary bin, and a harvesting subsystem connected to the mobile platform. The harvesting subsystem harvests the plant product as the system traverses a plot and projects it across the length of the primary bin(s) against a back wall of the primary bin(s), whereby the separated plant products collides with the back wall and falls into the primary bin. The system additionally includes at least one sample volumizer connected to the back wall of each primary bin. Each sample volumizer has a specified fixed volume and receives and collects a sample of the plant product, wherein each collected sample collected has the specified fixed volume. The system further includes at least one sample receiving subsystem structured and operable to receive and collect a sample from a respective sample volumizer.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2016Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: Monsanto Technology LLCInventors: Danny Michael Petty, Jr., Tedman William Ahrens, Lance Eric Layton, Jamie Lee Ayers, Douglas James Brune, Jared Lee Pounds, Luke Wayne Carpenter, Chet Matthew Barber

Patent number: 10426155Abstract: A deterrent apparatus for small chewing mammals having open root incisor teeth that continually grow is provided. The apparatus includes an array of green light emitting diodes, a power supply, and control circuitry. The control circuitry includes power conversion circuitry coupled between the array of diodes and the power supply to regulate and control operation of the diodes. The control circuitry is configured to intermittently illuminate and deluminate the array of green light diodes. The control circuitry is configured to drive the LEDs to generate a visual output of luminous energy having reciprocity between visual intensity (I) and time of stimulus duration (T) to impart a disturbing psychophysical response via photoreceptors of a small chewing mammal that realize a constant photoreceptor effect from 0.00173 to 0.0518 seconds. A method is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2017Date of Patent: October 1, 2019Inventor: Wayne Carpenter

Patent number: 8480533Abstract: A multi-speed transmission may include an input member and an output member disposed in a housing. A first planetary gear set, a second planetary gear set, a third planetary gear set, and a fourth planetary gear set may also be disposed in the housing, each planetary gear set including a sun gear, a planet carrier, and a ring gear. Six control elements may be operably coupled to the planetary gear sets and selectively engageable to create a set of different gear ratios between the input member and the output member, the set of different gear ratios including at least nine forward gear ratios and at least two reverse gear ratios.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2010Date of Patent: July 9, 2013Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Kevin Gerard Meyer, James Stephen Rice, Peter Hall Hodges, Larry Wayne Carpenter, Kevin Jay Knox

Patent number: 6022066Abstract: An upper door extension for vehicle doors, where the door extension conforms with a door frame recess of a raised roof. The door extension includes a support member and a contoured cover member. The support member includes a rigid frame and a pair of attachment rails which are attached to side edges of the rigid frame, such that a portion of each attachment rail extends downwardly therefrom. The contoured cover member is made of composite material and integrally molded to the support member and covers the entire rigid frame to form the upper door extension. The door extension is mounted to the vehicle door by inserting the attachment rails into a top end opening of the vehicle door and attaching the attachment rails to the interior sidewalls of the vehicle door.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1998Date of Patent: February 8, 2000Assignee: Ricon CorporationInventors: Jules Tremblay, Dale Wayne Carpenter
