Patent number: 11425564Abstract: A system for integrating wireless service providers' core networks with Wi-Fi radios using a Wireless Services Gateway (WSG). The WSG can allow wireless device users to seamlessly connect to a network such as the internet using both cellular phone antennae as well as Wi-Fi radio antennae while still utilizing their preferred wireless service provider's core network system of billing, authenticating and policy decision making. This system can allow for data transmission of wireless devices through Wi-Fi instead of through cellular antennae, thus increasing bandwidth and data transmission rates.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2020Date of Patent: August 23, 2022Assignee: ARRIS Enterprises LLCInventors: Hemant Bhatnagar, Wayne Chuu, Chetan Hebbalae, Wei-Lun Huang, Rajesh Kaliaperumal, William Kish, Yi-Nan Li, Ronald Mok, Vijikumar Nagaraja, Venkatarao Palli, Yogesh Ranade, Ming-Jye Sheu, Henry Tzeng, You-Lin Yan, Thomas Yu

Patent number: 11317315Abstract: In order to provide flexible scaling and dynamic reconfiguration, a wireless local area network controller includes a virtual dataplane with one or more virtual machines. These virtual machines pre-calculate processing parameters for packets in a data flow. For example, the pre-calculated processing parameters may include: encapsulation parameters, quality-of-service parameters and priority parameters. Subsequently, when one of the virtual machines receives a packet in the data flow on an input port, the virtual machine modifies information in a header of the packet based on one or more of the pre-calculated processing parameters and information associated with the data flow (which specifies the one or more pre-calculated processing parameters). Then, the virtual machine transmits the packet on an output port. In this way, the virtual machine maintains a fixed inter-packet time between packets in the data flow.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2020Date of Patent: April 26, 2022Assignee: ARRIS Enterprises LLCInventor: Wayne Chuu

Patent number: 11088988Abstract: In order to provide efficient processing of Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) data flows and dynamic Internet Protocol (IP) address management, an electronic device that implements a virtual dataplane in a network may separate the DHCP data flows from other data flows. Then, the virtual dataplane may perform IP address management using one or more applications that are executed by a processor in the electronic device. In order to accelerate processing of a sequence of packets in a DHCP data flow to a destination, the virtual dataplane may look up a stored result of a look-up operation for a first packet in the sequence, so that subsequent packets in the sequence use the stored result without performing the look-up operation. Furthermore, the IP address management may include dynamically freeing up IP addresses in the network based on network activity of client devices.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2016Date of Patent: August 10, 2021Assignee: ARRIS Enterprises LLCInventor: Wayne Chuu
