  • Publication number: 20250242439
Abstract: A frame for a laser processing module can be characterized as including a platform, a sandwich panel comprising a first plate and a second plate, a plurality of exterior walls, and a core including stiffeners perforated by a plurality of first openings defining an interior of the sandwich panel configured to facilitate air flow in spaces between the first plate and the second plate. A plurality of second openings are formed in the exterior walls, and a plurality of third openings are formed in the first plate, so that the interior of the sandwich panel is in fluid communication with a region external to the sandwich panel such that air flows through the sandwich panel and exits the sandwich panel via the plurality of second openings. A plurality of base supports having a plurality of plates and a plurality of beams extend from the sandwich panel to the platform.

  • Patent number: 12263535
Abstract: A frame for a laser processing module can be characterized as including a platform having an upper surface and a lower surface, an optics bridge spaced apart from, and extending over, the upper surface of the platform and a bridge support interposed between, and coupled to, the platform and the optics bridge. At least one selected from the group consisting of the platform and the optics bridge includes a sandwich panel. The sandwich panel can include a first plate, a second plate and a core interposed between the first plate and the second plate. The first plate and the second plate can be indirectly attached to one another by the core and the core can define at least one channel extending between the first plate and the second plate. The sandwich panel can also include a first port formed at an exterior of the sandwich panel and in fluid communication with the at least one channel, and a second port formed at the exterior of the sandwich panel and in fluid communication with the at least one channel.

  • Patent number: 8761216
Abstract: The invention is a method and apparatus for creating a color and optical density selectable visible mark on an anodized aluminum specimen. The method includes providing a laser marking system having a laser, laser optics and a controller operatively connected to said laser to control laser pulse parameters and a controller with stored laser pulse parameters, selecting the stored laser pulse parameters associated with the desired color and optical density, directing the laser marking system to produce laser pulses having laser pulse parameters associated with the desired color and optical density including temporal pulse widths greater than about 1 and less than about 1000 picoseconds to impinge upon said anodized aluminum.
