Patents by Inventor Wayne D. Finster

Wayne D. Finster has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 6730383
Abstract: Described are label sheets of pressure sensitive labels which are useful for duplex printing applications. The labels are provided with ties to secure them in order to lessen the adverse effects of delamination and leakage of adhesive into the printer parts. They are particularly useful for avoiding these disadvantages during duplex printing which subjects the label sheet to additional manipulation and treatment, such as two heated toner fusion steps, in contrast to simplex printing. Also described are methods of duplex printing using such label sheets.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 30, 2001
Date of Patent: May 4, 2004
    Assignee: NCR Corporation
Inventors: Timothy W. Rawlings, Joseph D. Roth, Wayne D. Finster, Mitch R. Bauer
  • Patent number: 6596359
Abstract: A laminate includes duplex labels laminated together by patches of adhesive alternating oppositely therebetween. The labels may be removed from each other, with each label having adhesive on the back side thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 2, 2001
Date of Patent: July 22, 2003
    Assignee: NCR Corporation
Inventors: Joseph D. Roth, Wayne D. Finster
  • Patent number: 6432499
Abstract: A nested label includes a liner having a surface release, and a label removably bonded to the liner by an adhesive. The liner and label have respective die cuts spaced apart from each other at a skip in the liner release for obtaining different bond strengths between the label and liner on opposite sides of the label die cut.

  • Patent number: 6423391
Abstract: A label sheet includes a label removably laminated to a release liner by a pair of release bonds having different bond strengths and being repetitive in a variegated pattern.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6410111
Abstract: A label sheet includes a label joined to a release liner by an adhesive with adjacent relatively low and high release bonds. The high release bond secures the label to the liner, and the low release bond permits easy removal therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6331018
Abstract: A liner for a label sheet has a printed image under the release layer and an opaque ink receptive coating on the opposite side thereof with a printed image thereon. Label sheets with this liner further include an overlay having at least one label cut therethrough which is aligned with the release layer of the liner and an adhesive layer which bonds the overlay and liner. The label sheet can be part of a form/label combination where the overlay includes the portion that is not adhered to the liner.

  • Patent number: 6217966
Abstract: A label for an electronic price tag includes a panel having an opposite face and back, and a border surrounding a removable strip for overlaying a visual display of the tag. An adhesive is disposed on the label back for bonding the label to the tag. And, a barrier is disposed on the adhesive under the strip for desensitizing adhesion of the strip with the tag display. The strip is readily removable from the label and display since the barrier degrades adhesive effectiveness.

  • Patent number: 6217078
Abstract: A label sheet includes an overlay attached to a liner by an adhesive. The liner includes adjoining relatively low and high adhesion surfaces. And, the adhesive bonds together the overlay and liner at the high adhesion surface and allows separation of the overlay at the low adhesion surface.
