  • Publication number: 20120036675
Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus can include a dirt inlet, a handle, and a cyclone bin having a longitudinal axis and a sidewall extending between an openable top and an openable bottom. The surface cleaning apparatus can also include a cyclone chamber located in the cyclone bin. The cyclone chamber can have an upper wall, a fluid inlet downstream from the dirt air inlet and a fluid outlet, and the fluid outlet can be removably mounted in the upper wall. The surface cleaning apparatus can also include a dirt collection located in the cyclone bin and a fluid flow motor.

  • Publication number: 20030044332
Abstract: A fluid contactor is taught for mixing and reacting of fluids. Mixing is enhanced by providing a suitable residence time and suitable surface area contact by forming eddy flow within the fluid and thereby the formation of vortexes. Such a contactor does not require the use of mechanical mixers. The contact chamber of the present invention can enhance chemical modification by use of chemical modifiers such as ultraviolet lamps, by allowing the positioning of such modifiers adjacent the vortexes.

  • Patent number: 5630990
Abstract: A generator is taught which uses alternating current or pulsating direct current to produce ozone from oxygen. The generator comprises a high voltage and ground electrode separated to form a gap for accommodating a dielectric member and gas to be reacted. The generator includes many features which may be used alone or in combination to provide an energy efficient and safe apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5222375
Abstract: A cooler for use with gaseous process fluids such as air containing a vapor has a vapor adsorption unit for passing process air through an adsorption media to dry the air, a heat exchanger to control the temperature of the heat adsorption media and process air, a vapor removal system for removing the adsorbed vapor from the adsorption media, and a humidification unit to add a vaporizable liquid to the dried process air, so as to vaporize the liquid into the dried process air. Thus, heat in the process air is utilized for the latent heat of vaporization of the liquid to reduce the temperature in such process air, while maintaining a predetermined humidity level in said air. The vaporizable liquid may be sprayed into the process fluid as a mist. Excess cooled coalesced liquid may be used in a heat exchanger to precool the process fluid before it enters the humidifier.

  • Patent number: 5209078
Abstract: An air cooler system for use in association with an air circulation system and having a process air heat exchanger for recovering heat from the process air in the system, a vacuum chamber with a vacuum chamber heat exchanger in communication with the process air heat exchanger so as to transfer heat from process air heat exchanger to the vacuum chamber heat exchanger, a water supply for supplying water to the vacuum chamber and, vacuum source to draw a predetermined degree of vacuum in the vacuum chamber so as to reduce the boiling point of water therein.

  • Patent number: 4759778
Abstract: The invention provides a filter structure for use with a high voltage power pack for filtering particulates from a stream of air passing through the filter structure. The structure includes a structural element for facing the stream of air and the back parallel and spaced from the front, the front and back defining a plurality of openings permitting a flow of air through the element. A planar insulating substrate is positioned adjacent the front of the structural element and has openings aligned with the openings in the structural element and a plurality of conductors are carried by the substrate about the openings for charging by the power pack. As a result, an electrostatic field is created across the openings orthogonally with respect to the flow of air between the conductors. A non-conductive filter element is positioned in contact with the conductors and between the conductors and the back of the structural element.
