  • Publication number: 20140336874
Abstract: Tip-off is a process of bringing a transport vehicle to a target weight by using only part of a bucket of a loader. By observing sensor data, tip-off may be automatically determined. Once determined, a visual indication may be made to an operator, allowing the operator to both confirm that tip-off mode is active and to show what tip-off mode is selected, truck tip-off or pile tip-off. Among other benefits, automatic tip-off allows an operator to maintain contact with the loader controls when entering tip-off mode of operation.

  • Patent number: 8807909
Abstract: A tilting system for an implement pivotally connected to a lift arm. The tilting system includes a tilt cylinder configured to provide a rotary movement to the implement. The tilting system includes a tilt lever pivotally connected to the tilt cylinder by a pivot pin E and to the implement by a pivot pin C. The tilting system further includes a tilt link pivotally connected to a lift arm by a pivot pin F, and to the tilt lever by a pivot pin D. An angle defined between a line DE connecting the pivot pins D and E and a line DC connecting the pivot pins D and C, is in the range of 135 to 165 degrees.

  • Patent number: 8695240
Abstract: A machine bucket assembly includes a bucket having a top section, a bottom section, and a curved middle section. The bucket assembly may also include a kinematic reaction point about which the bucket is configured to rotate. A loadability index of the bucket may be between approximately 0.95 and 1.05. The loadability index is a ratio of a distance between the kinematic reaction point and a tip of the bottom section and a distance between the kinematic reaction point and a tip of the top section.

  • Patent number: 8015734
Abstract: A machine bucket may include an upper pin hole and a lower pin hole. The machine bucket may also include a bottom section. A distance between the lower pin hole and a tip of the bottom section may have a first length. The machine bucket may also include a top section. A distance between the lower pin hole and a tip of the top section may have a second length. A ratio of the first length to the second length may be equal to a value between approximately 0.95 and 1.05. The machine bucket may further include a middle section located between the bottom section and the top section. At least a portion of the middle section may be curved.
