  • Patent number: 5647698
Abstract: A tire rasp blade is provided with an elongated planar body having a working portion comprising a plurality of uniformly and closely spaced teeth which define an arcuate working perimeter. Each of the teeth has a base and a working edge and is separated from neighboring teeth by generally elliptical primary cutouts which are oriented normal to the tangent of the working perimeter. The teeth are preferrably monolithic and of a uniform size and shape, and are both angularly set and laterally displaced relative to the plane of the blade body.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 7, 1995
Date of Patent: July 15, 1997
    Assignee: B & J Manufacturing Company

  • Patent number: 5075942
Abstract: A tire rasp blade has a planar body portion and a working edge portion. The working edge comprises a combination of adjacent, or closely aligned teeth and spaced teeth. The trailing edges of any one adjacent tooth is displaced from the plane of the body portion to one side of the blade and the leading edge of the next following adjacent tooth is displaced to the opposite side of the blade.

  • Patent number: 5054177
Abstract: A tire rasp blade is provided with an elongated planar body having a working portion comprising a plurality of uniformly and closely spaced teeth which define an arcuate working perimeter. Each of the teeth has a base and a working edge and is separated from neighboring teeth by generally elliptical primary cutouts which are oriented normal to the tangent of the working perimeter. The teeth are preferably monolithic and of a uniform size and shape, and are both angularly set and laterally displaced relative to the plane of the blade body.

  • Patent number: 5033175
Abstract: A tire rasp blade and rasp hub assembly is disclosed. The tire rasp blade has an elongated body and an arcuate working edge with a plurality of teeth. The elongated blade includes an angled intermediate portion and generally planar end portions, thereby establishing a body having a broad V-shape. A plurality of V-shaped blades are assembled with adjacent spacers to form a circumferentially inter-locking hub assembly.

  • Patent number: 4059875
Abstract: Blades for tire rasps are disclosed in which the outer edge of their teeth have cutting edges inclined at a positive rake angle and cooperating buffing edges inclined at a negative rake angle, the teeth having other similarly inclined cutting and buffing edges at levels inwardly of the original outer tooth edge to which the teeth may be sharpened as the original cutting and buffing edges become worn.

  • Patent number: 4021899
Abstract: Replaceable blades have an inner generally planar portion which is mounted between imperforate spacers of a tire buffing machine hub and an outer working edge portion which protrude beyond said spacers. Said working edge portion has spaced teeth and means in the form of apertures located adjacent the base of the teeth and outwardly of the perimeter of said spacers for collection and direction of air and/or externally applied moisture in rotation of the hub. In some of the disclosed forms the trailing edge of the apertures is embossed or otherwise scoop shaped for increased collection capability and/or capacity.

  • Patent number: 4019234
Abstract: Tire rasp is disclosed for a tire buffing machine in which the blades and spacers are removably assembled in holders which in turn are removably assembled between the top and base plates of a hub comprising the tire rasp. Each holder and its assembly of blades and spacers are separately removable from the reversible in the tire rasp hub.
