  • Publication number: 20210164131
Abstract: Disclosed herein are spun yarns comprising melt spun staple fiber comprising a first polymer and a second polymer, wherein the first polymer comprises poly(trimethylene terephthalate) or poly(butylene terephthalate) and the second polymer comprises poly(ethylene terephthalate) or Co-PET, wherein Co-PET is a poly(ethylene terephthalate) copolymer comprising isophthalic acid monomer; and wherein the first polymer comprises poly(trimethylene terephthalate) and the weight ratio of the poly(trimethylene terephthalate) to the second polymer is in the range of from about 80:20 to about 10:90; or the the first polymer comprises poly(butylene terephthalate) and the weight ratio of the poly(butylene terephthalate) to the second polymer is in the range of about 90:10 to about 10:90. The spun yarn may further comprise a second staple fiber such as cotton or wool. The spun yarn is useful in preparing fabrics having advantageous properties.

  • Patent number: 7736532
Abstract: Provided is a composition comprising a nonmicellar twisted nematic liquid crystal having cholesteric near infrared-reflecting properties and at least one near infrared absorptive material. This composition reduces the transmission of near infrared radiation. The composition can be used as a layer, optionally in conjunction with polymeric films, polymeric sheets, rigid sheets, and the like, to form multilayer laminates. In some embodiments these multilayer laminates are useful as solar control windows or window films to reduce energy consumption necessary to cool the interior of a structure such as an automobile or building.

  • Patent number: 4663414
Abstract: There are disclosed certain categories of novel spin-coating compositions comprising phosphorus-doped and/or boron-doped silsesquioxane oligomers. Cured interlayer dielectric films prepared therefrom have a superior combination of defined properties, particularly including adhesion (of single-coat and multiple coats) and/or resistance against degradation at temperatures above 500.degree. C. The spin-coating compositions are prepared in a critical manner from critical raw materials.
