  • Publication number: 20260224080
Abstract: During an evacuation mode of operation of a hand vacuum cleaner, an evacuation air flow path extends from an evacuation air inlet through at least the debris separator to the docking station. A return air path extends from the docking station air outlet to the suction motor of the hand vacuum cleaner whereby, in an evacuation mode when the hand vacuum cleaner is docked with a docking station air outlet port, air travels from the docking station air outlet port to the return air path. A valve is operable between a closed position in which the hand vacuum cleaner is operable to clean the surface and an evacuation position in which the return air flow path is in air flow communication with the motor and fan assembly. The motor and fan assembly and the return air path are provided at a lower end of the hand vacuum cleaner.

  • Publication number: 20260165542
Abstract: A robotic surface cleaner includes a cleaning member and at least one suction member. The robotic surface cleaner can move autonomously between different regions of the underlying surface to be cleaned. The suction member can be adjusted between an anchor condition in which the suction member is secured to the surface and a release condition in which the suction member is disengaged from the underlying surface. In the anchor condition, the suction member can maintain contact between the cleaning member and the underlying surface being cleaned to ensure the cleaning member remains in contact with the underlying surface while performing a cleaning action. The suction member may also allow the cleaning member to clean the underlying surface more vigorously, for instance to clean soiled or stained surface regions.
