  • Patent number: 5972585
Abstract: A color negative photographic element is disclosed containing yellow, magenta and cyan dye-forming couplers and masking dyes. Visual judging of the negative image obtained following processing is facilitated by choosing the masking dyes to provide, following imagewise exposure and processing, in CIE1976(L.sup.* a.sup.* b.sup.*) color space L.sup.* values of greater than 30 and C.sup.* values of less than 20, where C.sup.* values are derived from the formula: C.sup.* =[(a.sup.*).sup.2 +(b.sup.*).sup.2 ].sup.1/2.

  • Patent number: 5622797
Abstract: A method for processing a silver halide photographic element having a support on the bottom and a light sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on the top, comprising:directing a ray of infrared light in a direction so as to fall on the top side of the element;detecting the presence or absence of infrared light reflected from the top of the element whereby the presence or absence of the element can be determined; andusing the detection of the reflected infrared light to control a processing step. The invention also provides a device capable of performing the method as described.

  • Patent number: 4192679
Abstract: Photographic elements, film units and processes are described having bifunctional benzisoxazolones of the formula: ##STR1## wherein: R is alkyl or aryl;DEV is a silver halide developing agent;Ball is at least one organic ballasting radical of such molecular size and configuration as to render the compound nondiffusible in the photograhic element during development in an alkaline processing composition; andn is a positive integer of 1 to 4.The compounds are employed in negative-working, color image transfer elements and release the developer upon processing. The remainder of the compound functions to scavenge oxidized developer. The compounds can be located in an emulsion layer or in a dye image-providing material layer, and in a ballasted form can be located in an interlayer.
