  • Patent number: 9333605
Abstract: A dispenser for viscous condiments and a method of making the dispenser are provided. The dispenser includes a tubular sidewall having an end portion with an inward flange. The dispenser includes a dispenser assembly secured to the end portion that has one or more openings. A seal member is attached to the dispenser assembly at the exterior of the end portion. The seal member prevents condiment from exiting the dispenser assembly before the dispenser is ready to use. The seal member includes spaced ear portions projecting outwardly from the perimeter of the seal member. A method for making the dispenser includes forming a web containing a plurality of seal members, die cutting the web so the seal members in the web are connected only at their ear portions, aligning and attaching one of the seal members to a dispenser assembly, and severing the attached seal member from the web.

  • Patent number: 8650736
Abstract: A dispenser for viscous condiments including a tubular sidewall having opposite ends. One opposite end is open and can receive a plunger or piston therein for applying force to a condiment contained within the tubular sidewall. The other end of the sidewall includes a dispenser valve assembly including a member secured to an inturned flange portion of the sidewall with the flange portion being generally normal to the sidewall. The dispenser valve assembly is suitably secured to the flange portion as by heat sealing, such as a bead of hot melt, to form a composite laminated structure that is resistant to the penetration of liquid elements of the condiments. The dispenser valve assembly further includes a valve plate having one or more selectively openable discharge openings that will open and close under the influence of the pressure applied to the condiment in order to discharge the condiment.

  • Patent number: 8424275
Abstract: A sealed plastic container and a method for producing it are provided. The method for producing the sealed plastic container includes the steps of providing a container body having an end, providing a closure member having a skirt, inserting the closure member into the container body, heating the closure member skirt and container body end, and rolling the closure member skirt top and container end inward thereby fusing the closure member to the container body.

  • Patent number: 8146781
Abstract: A dispenser is provided for viscous condiments. The dispenser includes a tubular sidewall having opposite ends. One opposite end is open and can receive a plunger or piston therein for applying force to condiment contained within a compartment inside of the sidewall. The other end of the sidewall includes a dispenser valve assembly comprising a member secured to an inturned flange portion of the sidewall with the flange portion being generally normal to the sidewall. The dispenser valve assembly is suitably secured to the flange portion as by heat sealing to form a composite laminated structure that is resistant to the penetration of liquids from the condiments. A bead of hot melt can be provided to seal an exposed outer edge of the dispenser valve assembly and to seal the dispenser valve assembly to the sidewall.

  • Patent number: 5578128
Abstract: An apparatus is provided according to the present invention for applying a glue bead to a round and non-round container to seal a fitment therein. The container includes a side wall formed about a longitudinal axis and having a closed end and an open end. The apparatus includes a base for holding the container in a fitment applying position and a hot melt glue gun for applying a layer of glue about an interior perimeter of the container to form an adhesion region. The adhesion region extends about the interior of the side walls immediately adjacent the open end thereof. The glue gun is suspended from a rotary bearing assembly which drives the gun about a longitudinal axis of the container as glue is sprayed thereon. A drive pulley, connected to the gun, is remotely driven via a belt and shaft arrangement by an electric motor.
