  • Patent number: 4854812
Abstract: A quick coupler for attaching various material handling implements to a lift arm. The quick coupler includes an opening on one end for pivotal connection with the lift arm and a slotted end portion for selective engagement with a mounting pin on the implement. An intermediate portion of the quick coupler includes a mounting or coupler pin that extends laterally beyond the sides of the quick coupler. An actuating mechanism including a push-pull link is connected to the quick coupler for rotating it about the end of the lift arm. The quick coupler includes an element which may be used for lifting or positioning objects while the quick coupler is fully attached to the implement. Each implement is provided with a pair of opposed attachment members which include slots for receiving the outer laterally extending portions of the quick coupler mounting pin.

  • Patent number: 4552365
Abstract: A gun for firing a resilient loop projectile, wherein the missile is stretched over a frame and discharged by a firing mechanism movable against the bias of on elastic member on an upwardly and rearwardly directed rectilinear path of travel. A combination plunger and rear sight has a forwardly curved surface to lift the loop upwardly off the firing groove to discharge the missile from the gun. The contour of the gun permits rapid movement of a missile from a ready position to a firing position and admits of the simultaneous loading with two missiles for rapid fire. The gun is constructed in a manner to resemble the feel and firing characteristics of a conventional hand gun. The projectiles for the gun comprise a length of elastic tubing having a flexible polyurethane rod joining the tube ends to close the loop and enhance the firing accuracy and durability of the missile. The projectile is made of high visibility material and is floatable to insure recoverability after firing.

  • Patent number: 4391050
Abstract: A digging tooth assembly for an excavating machine including a digging tooth having a resilient housing for mounting the tooth to the forward end of a digging tooth shank. A wedge-shaped projection or retaining member is mounted to the top surface of the shank for locking engagement within a cut-out or socket formed in the housing for mounting the digging tooth. The digging tooth is held on the tip of the shank by the locking coaction between the wedge-shaped projection and cut-out and the resiliency of the housing. The top surface of the digging tooth abuts against the flat bottom surface of the shank such that impact forces are transmitted through the resilient digging tooth housing to the shank thereby providing the digging tooth with increased flexibility and longer wear life. The present construction provides for vertical cutting action by the digging tooth shank and horizontal cutting action by the digging tooth for improved loosening of the earth being excavated.

  • Patent number: 4366350
Abstract: A telephony system with automatic test calling. Test access circuitry connected to port circuits enables the test call circuit to select actual ports for a test call and monitor the test call signals. Test calls are initiated either on a periodic basis on in resonse to a fault condition. Any portion of the telephony system therefore can be used in a test call.

  • Patent number: 4273502
Abstract: A releasable locking mechanism for holding a boom in a stored position on a support consists of a latch pivotally supported on the boom and normally held in a first position with a pin carried by the swing tower and aligned with the latch. The pin and latch are positioned such that movement of the boom to the stored position will automatically pivot the latch and produce an interlocking relationship. The release mechanism consists of first and second pivotally interconnected elements, one of which is supported along the pivot axis for the swing tower on the vehicle and the second element having a control member extending therefrom to the operator's station. A universal connection is provided between the control member and the second element, and is located along the vertical pivot axis for the swing tower.
