  • Patent number: 10788174
Abstract: A method producing a dynamic single dimensional output image from a two dimensional image is disclosed. A camera captures a digital image. In the method, each row of pixels of the input image may be read progressively to generate lighting instructions corresponding to each row. The instructions are sent to e.g. programmable LEDs. The process continues with a first row of pixels from the input image being processed first, followed by processing of a subsequent row of pixels of the input image. Upon processing of the second row of pixels, LEDs of the LED strip are illuminated correspondingly. This process continues iteratively until the final row of pixels of the input image. If the imaged object varies visually from one side to another or from top down, the LEDs illuminated by processing of each row of pixels will vary, thereby generating a dynamic image.

  • Patent number: 10696349
Abstract: A bicycle frame joint accommodating internal cabling is shown and described. The joint includes an internal passage joining at least two frame tube receiving sockets. The internal passage can receive cables and lighting strips, enabling a circuit or lighting strip to extend along a plurality of frame tubes, and to pass through joints between adjacent frame tubes, to promote circuit continuity. Some bicycle frame joints may have internal passages bypassing some sockets, enabling a continuous circuit to bypass an intervening frame tube.

  • Publication number: 20190144062
Abstract: A system including a programmable lighting display, together with sensors of motion parameters of a vehicle is disclosed. Once programmed, the system functions automatically to produce selected visual effects on the lighting display. The lighting display is visible from the exterior of the vehicle, although illuminable elements may be contained within translucent or transparent elements of the vehicle. Sensed parameters of motion may include forward acceleration and/or velocity, rearward acceleration and/or velocity, inclination, vertical acceleration and/or velocity, and loss of and re-establishing of contact with the ground. The lighting display may comprise multi-colored LEDs. Visual effects may include color or hue selection, intermittent illumination or flashing, sequencing of lights to create the impression of waves, and other visual effects.

  • Publication number: 20180334232
Abstract: A stern light manually insertible into and removable from a powered socket such as for a boat, is shown and described. The stern light comprises a light transmissive elongated post with a plurality of point light sources. Each point light source is individually controllable as to on-off and as to color, either from local pushbuttons or from a portable wireless transmitter. The point light sources may be controlled by a programmable controller which responds to the local pushbuttons or to the portable wireless transmitter, and may illuminate according to various lighting sequences, such as constantly on and such as flashing.

  • Patent number: 9746152
Abstract: An internally illuminated transparent rail, such as a handrail, is disclosed. The rail is fabricated from polycarbonate or the like, and contains one or more series of lighting elements such as LEDs. The LEDs are connected to a programmable controller which stores preloaded programming control sequences and features, and which can also receive commands wirelessly from e.g. a hand held user interface such as a cellular telephone. The rail includes stanchions for mounting to an environmental object such as a transport vehicle or a static structure.
