Abstract: A package and related method for manufacturing thereof, the package including multiple layers. The layers include an external layer with an external layer outer surface and an external layer inner surface, and an interface layer with an interface layer outer surface and an interface layer inner surface, where the interface layer outer surface is in contact with the external layer inner surface. The layers also include a thermal spreader layer with a thermal spreader outer surface and a thermal spreader inner surface, where the thermal spreader outer surface is in contact with the interface layer inner surface. The layers include circuitry, which is arranged proximate to and facing the thermal spreader inner surface. In some embodiments, the thermal spreader layer includes at least one thermally conductive channel to transfer heat along the at least one channel, the heat to be thermally transferred to the external layer via the interface layer.

Abstract: The present invention provides a backpack comprising a frame for supporting one or more bags, a waist belt attached to the frame for supporting the frame around the waist of a backpack wearer, and a pivot system for attaching the waist belt to the frame to permit rotation of the waist belt with respect the frame, the pivot system comprising a bracket that is fixedly attached to the frame, and a single pivoting axle for attachment of the waist belt to the bracket.

Abstract: A portable cooking system has a heating chamber supported by retractable legs that rest on a lid. A fire pan also resting on the lid and partially within the heating chamber is adaptable to burn charcoal, wood, or compressed gas. The lid supports and isolates the fire pan from the ground. The fire pan may be adapted for grilling. An alternate lid may contain an electric heating element. Thermometers and a vent on the heating chamber allow regulation on temperature within the heating chamber. The system may be adapted to provide uniform, controlled heat for Dutch ovens contained within. The system may also function as a smoker.

Abstract: A backpack is provided, having a pack body and a shoulder strap system configured to hold the pack body securely against the user even during periods of high activity. The strap system includes two shoulder straps each having a lower portion attached to a coupler having an extended interface with the pack body, to inhibit sagging and secure the pack body to the user.

Abstract: A backpack is provided including a waistbelt having a dual-axis canting system. The waistbelt includes a central support and left and right belt portions that are pivotally coupled to the central support, extending around the sides of the user. The belt portions are configured to pivot about corresponding pivot axes, spaced apart from each other. The belt portions can freely pivot with respect to the central support to accommodate the user's body shape and the user's movement.

Abstract: A backpack is provided incorporating a framesheet and having superior torsional flexibility and load support. The backpack includes a sack configured to be disposed on a user's back and having a first side adjacent to the user's back, when worn. The framesheet is attached to the first side of the sack, generally with the spine of the user. A surface contour is provided to the framesheet that facilitates load support and inhibits barreling. The framesheet has a first width in the upper region and a second width less than the first width, the second width residing in the intermediate between the scapulas and the hip bones of the user. Optionally, a stay can also be provided to the backside of the framesheet, preferably along the centerline thereof.

Abstract: A quick release buckle particularly for use on backpacks including a two part body, an engagement part and a receptor part each of which include attachments for a strap or belt. The body parts telescope into engagement with one body part including a flexible finger and the other a catch. A buckle release strap is secured to the flexible finger and to the body by a snap fastener. At least one upstanding wing on a body part protects the buckle release strap from unintended release.
