    Abstract: An adjustable mount for a loudspeaker having a plate adapted for mounting on a surface or the open side of a junction box. The plate has an indented part-spherical surface which accommodates a ring with an outer part-spherical surface. The ring has an aperture extending therethrough and an elongated slot, and a first hollow tube is rotatably disposed in the aperture and a second hollow tube is translatably disposed in the slot. One of the tubes extends through an opening in the recess of the plate and the other tube is mounted on the loudspeaker with the conductor for energizing the loudspeaker extending through the first and second tubes. A web extends radially inward of the ring and has bifurcations at the end thereof disposed on opposite sides of the portion of the conductor between the first and second tubes. The first and second tubes have external threads which are engaged by locknuts for securing the ring on the plate and on the loudspeaker.

    Abstract: A power selector assembly for a loudspeaker includes in one embodiment an audio transformer upon which a printed circuit board (PCB) is mounted via connector strips having pins for both securing the PCB to the transformer, and for individually electrically connecting foil contacts of the PCB to the multi-tapped primary and the secondary windings of the transformer. The transformer is mounted within a housing. An electrical wiper contact is resiliently mounted between the PCB and a knob retained in an access hole through the housing, for permitting the knob to be rotated for positioning the wiper contact to selectively electrically connect a foil terminal receiving an input signal to one of a plurality of contact foils of the PCB, for connecting the input signal to one of the taps of the primary winding associated with a desired power level. Other electrical connections on the printed circuit board provide for connecting a loudspeaker to the secondary winding.

    Abstract: A rudder assembly for sailboats which comprises a rudder support frame, a rudder blade, a tiller frame, a pivot bracket, and a lever. With the rudder blade in the lowered position, the weight of the tiller arm bears down on the pivot at the junction of the lever and the pivot bracket preventing the upward movement of the lever and locking the rudder blade in place. To raise the rudder blade, the tiller is lifted up, pulled forward, then pushed down, causing the lever to rotate and pulling the upper rear portion of the rudder blade forward. Adjustments in the rake angle of the rudder blade and the force required to kick up the rudder blade may be made.

    Abstract: A curvilinear, semi-rigid paper guide for a bi-directional line printer mounted on a platen which provides a surface that bears against the moving print head as the print medium passes between the print head and the paper guide is disclosed. By adjusting the curvature of the paper guide, differences in the distances between adjacent drive sprockets of upper and lower print medium drive mechanisms may be compensated for thus ensuring the printing of straight, parallel and unskewed character lines. In addition, the present invention may be used in a line printer having a single print medium drive mechanism to compensate for nonlinearities in and non-parallelism between the surface of the platen and print head movement.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a carriage control apparatus for a serial, impact computer printer. The carriage control apparatus comprises an encoder disk mounted for rotation on the carriage and having a coded pattern on its periphery, a photo sensor (and associated light source) for detecting the coded pattern and a drive means, preferably a serpentine toothed belt attached at each end to the printer's side frames that engages a sprocket wheel attached to the encoder disk to rotate the encoder disk in a fixed relationship to the carriage's position along the line of print of the printer.

    Abstract: A device for mounting a paper tractor assembly between the side frames of a computer printer which allows the entire paper tractor assembly to be "popped out" by the application of finger pressure alone, and which eliminates the cost of rounding the ends of the square drive rod of the paper tractor assembly. The mounting device consists of mounting brackets to secure the rods of the paper tractor assembly, bushings to engage the ends of the square drive rod and adapt them to fit into the mounting brackets, and springs or other resilient means to allow the paper tractor assembly to be "popped out.
