Abstract: Flying devices which can ride up and down along a vertical elongate guide member in response to air flow over an airfoil portion of the device. Strings and wires can be used for elongate guide members in some embodiments. Some embodiment flying devices have an adjustable angle of attack. Some devices include an angle of attack lock to lock in a negative angle of attack at a top stop and/or lock in a positive angle of attack at a bottom stop, and a lock, release to release the lock at the opposite travel extreme. Kits having hardware for securing the elongate guide members to buildings are also provided.
