Abstract: Disclosed is a beverage covering screen that facilitates aeration of a beverage within a container while shielding the beverage from contaminants such as airborne insects and falling debris. The covering comprises a shoulder portion that is adapted to rest against the rim of a glass or similar container, a lower skirt portion that extends below the shoulder portion, and a central screen portion that covers the open area of the glass inside of the glass rim. The assembly rests on an open glass rim or is secured to a specifically designed glass container having complimentary threads for removable securement thereto. In an exemplary embodiment, a section of the screen includes a removable or flip-top lid for access to the glass contents without removing the screen from the rim of the beverage glass.
