  • Patent number: 5177986
Abstract: A belt-like device for securing one object to another object, e.g. skis, snowboards, skateboards, bicycles, and the like to fixed poles to prevent theft. Two joined and closed loops are formed by the device, a first loop capturing a first object and the second loop capturing the second object tethering them together. The device has a line of flexible, strong material with a slip buckle. An end of the line remote from the slip buckle is passed through the buckle to form a noose. The noose is made to either encircle a first object or pass through an opening defined by the first object, either way capturing it. The second loop can be formed by joining an opening defined by the line remote from the noose to at least one other opening defined by the line between the noose and the remote opening. The second loop can be closed by a shackle passing through the joined openings, preferably the shackle of a lock.

  • Patent number: 4942282
Abstract: The transverse member (29) of a reflow soldering heater bar (23) is slotted at intervals to reduce thermal expansion. The slots (63), which typically extend orthogonally through the transverse member (29) and the connecting legs (61) of the heater bar (23), may extend diagonally therethrough to prevent missed welds.

  • Patent number: 4828162
Abstract: Apparatus for gripping and removing integrated circuits, including four heatable jaws movable into gripping relation with soldered integrated circuit leads. The heatable jaws are mounted to respective leveler plates, each of which is suspended from a base member by a pivotable gripper arm and three flexure arms. Individual air cylinders are selectively actuable to pivot the gripper arms and thereby achieve inward motion and gripping action of the jaws. A second embodiment employs a cam follower mechanism rather than air cylinders to actuate similarly-mounted jaw elements.
