  • Patent number: 8046831
Abstract: Security components of managed computers are configured using inoculation data. Inoculation data can be retrieved from an inoculation data provider. The inoculation data provider analyzes unauthorized software applications to develop inoculation data. The inoculation data configures the security component to deny access to resources to unauthorized software applications. Inoculation data can be embedded into a script, which is distributed via a management protocol to one or more managed computers from a management computer. Resources can include files, storage paths, memory, registry keys, processor priority, services, dynamic link libraries, archives, browser cookies, and/or ActiveX controls, Java applets, or classes thereof.

  • Patent number: 7870613
Abstract: Security components of managed computers are configured using inoculation data. Inoculation data can be retrieved from an inoculation data provider. The inoculation data provider analyzes unauthorized software applications to develop inoculation data. The inoculation data configures the security component to block execution of unauthorized software applications. Inoculation data can be embedded into a script, which is distributed via a management protocol to one or more managed computers from a management computer. Unauthorized software applications can be identified by filenames, storage paths, registry keys, digital signatures, download locations, residuals, and ActiveX controls or classes.

  • Patent number: 6624705
Abstract: A circuit for controlling a phase-locked loop (PLL) with reduced cycle slip during acquisition of phase lock includes frequency dividers with selectable divisors for the reference and feedback signals, and a phase detector having a charge pump output circuit with selectable output current ranges. During acquisition of phase lock by the PLL, the divisors for the reference and feedback signal frequency dividers are increased by the same factor, and the charge pump current range is increased by the same ratio. As a result, the reference rate is decreased as the charge pump current range is increased simultaneously by the same ratio. Meanwhile, the linear loop bandwidth and phase margin remain substantially constant.

  • Patent number: 5713912
Abstract: A ligating clip having surfaces with slanted ramp members for clamping a tubular vessel. The ligating clip includes a pair of legs, each of which has a proximal end, a distal end and an inner surface. The proximal ends of the legs are joined to define a hinge. The legs may be forced together onto a tubular vessel such that the inner surfaces of the legs are face-to-face in a closed position. A lock tab protrudes inward from the inner surface near the distal end of one of the legs. A lock slot is provided in the inner surface near the distal end of the other leg. The lock slot receives the lock tab to secure the ligating clip in the closed position. A number of ramp members extend angularly inward from the inner surface of each leg in order to keep the tubular vessel from slipping in the distal direction as the ligating clip is closed. A tool for applying the ligating clip is provided with a cutting blade for severing the vessel after the ligating clip has been applied.

  • Patent number: 5254125
Abstract: An instrument for grasping and incising the scrotum of an animal. The instrument has a barrel, a spring-loaded rod within the barrel, a pair of forceps members attached to the rod and a knife housing with a spring-loaded knife at the forward end of the barrel. A spring-biased latch member is provided to hold the knife in a cocked position. A trigger is attached to the barrel to cock the rod in a forward position with the forceps members extending forward through the knife housing and to release the rod for rapid movement rearward in the barrel. With the knife and rod cocked, the forceps members are applied to the scrotum of an animal. The trigger is then pressed to release the rod and forceps members rearward. The rearward movement of the forceps members draws a portion of the scrotum into the knife housing behind the knife. The final rearward movement of the rod causes the latch member to be tripped, and the knife is released to incise the scrotum.

  • Patent number: 5190560
Abstract: An instrument for castration by ligating and severing blood and seminal vessels. A pistol-shaped tool comprises a hollow body forming a barrel and a hand grip. A yoke pivotally mounted in the cavity of the grip is pivotally connected to a trigger, ligating means and severing means. The vessel to be ligated and severed is positioned in a slotted area at the muzzle of the barrel. The initial pulling of the trigger toward the grip causes blade guards connected to the severing means to surround the vessel or vessels. Further movement of the trigger toward the grip actuates the ligating means to push a ligature from a ligature container and around the vessels. The ligature is forced through ligature compressors which press the locking ligature onto the vessels. Final movement of the trigger toward the grip moves the severing means to force a blade through the vessels.
