Abstract: Fence posts for constructing a wire fence, fence stays, and methods for constructing a wire fence are provided. The fence posts include a stem portion having a front edge connected to a rear portion or flange by a first bend portion. Receiving apertures are disposed in the stem portion of each fence post. The receiving apertures each include a slot portion and a retaining portion. The slot portion can taper from a relatively wide opening along the front edge of the fence post to a relatively narrow portion at an intersection between the slot portion and the retaining portion. The retaining portion is formed as an arc centered on the slot portion. The fence posts additionally include a base portion configured to be received in the ground. Fence stays, configured with receiving apertures like those of the fence posts, but without base portions, are also provided.

The tongue and ring portions lie in a common plane. The fencing connector can be formed from a single piece of material. The ring portion of the fencing connector is configured to fit over a vertical fence post, and the tongue portion of the fencing connector is configured to fit inside of a horizontal member that extends between the first vertical post and a second vertical post. In an H brace assembly, a fencing connector is provided at each end of the horizontal member. In addition, in such an assembly, stops may be fixed to the vertical posts to maintain the fencing connectors at a desired location along the respective vertical posts.

Abstract: An electric insulator is provided that can be used between an electrified wire of an electric fence and a fence post. The electric insulator generally includes a body having a lateral aperture. The lateral aperture extends for the entire length of the body and is configured to allow a wire to be laterally inserted into, or removed from, a central channel of the electric insulator. The electric insulator may include one or more fins to assist in securing the electric insulator to a fence post.

Abstract: An alignment tool for aligning fence posts and a method for aligning fence posts are provided. The alignment tool can include an alignment plate with an aperture adapted to receive a fence post. The alignment plate is interconnected to a lever arm to facilitate the application of a torque to a fence post received by the aperture of the alignment plate at a desired location along the length of the fence post. The alignment plate can additionally include one or more notches adapted to receive an edge of a fence post. By applying a force through the lever arm, the portion of an edge of the fence post received by the notch can be crimped and/or otherwise aligned at a desired location along the length of the fence post. The lever arm can comprise a post pounder, resulting in a tool that is capable of performing multiple functions.
