  • Patent number: 4142554
Abstract: A flexible composite hose which can be connected to a swageable fitting without creating a weakness in the hose adjacent the end of the fitting. The hose utilizes two or more braided reinforcement layers comprised of yarn formed from twisted strands of reinforcing material. During swaging, the twisted yarn in each reinforcement layer interlocks with the twisted yarn of the adjacent reinforcement layer preventing relative longitudinal motion therebetween and bunching of the reinforcement material which would create a weakness in the hose structure.

  • Patent number: 4007070
Abstract: The method of constructing multi-layered hoses of plastic materials in which a coating comprising resorcinol, urethane adhesive and a solvent is applied to the outer surface of an inner tubular member or layer of either polyamide or polyester with the solvent acting as a carrier for the resorcinol and adhesive, removing a major portion of the solvent from the coating, and applying an outer tubular layer of a plastic material such as polyamide, polyester, polyurethane or polyvinyl chloride, but of a different material than the inner layer, over the inner layer in contact with the coating.

  • Patent number: 3966238
Abstract: A hose construction comprising a core tube of either synthetic rubber or plasticized polyvinyl chloride plastic, a braided non-metallic fibrous reinforcement over the core tube, and an outer cover of either synthetic rubber or plasticized polyvinyl chloride plastic when the core tube is of polyvinyl chloride plastic, or the cover is plasticized polyvinyl chloride plastic when the core tube is synthetic rubber. The hose is particularly suited for use with barbed hose couplings insertable into the hose wherein the hose is held on to the coupling by contractive force of the hose on the barbs without the use of external clamps or gripping members on the hose.
