  • Publication number: 20090011153
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved molding process and composition for lightweight synthetic fiber logs used in natural gas, propane and wood burning fireplaces. A method of manufacturing castable fireplace logs comprising the combination of inorganic fibers with a binder carrier mix to form logs of superior color and detail in a shortened production time frame.

  • Patent number: 6361725
Abstract: A process for making an artificial mineral or ceramic panels that can be used in gas fireplaces. The process uses a screen mold having simulated pattern elements to impart a realistic exterior surface to the article. A slurry of mineral fibers is injected under pressure into the mold forcing excess water therethrough leaving the fibers impinged within the mold. The article thus formed is dried in an oven and can be processed for additional decorative coatings.

  • Patent number: 6077467
Abstract: A process for making an artificial mineral or ceramic fiber log representation having areas of enhanced thermal texturing that can be used in gas fireplaces to simulate the burning of real wood logs. The process uses a screen mold having simulated wood pattern elements to impart a realistic exterior surface to the artificial log and thermal reactive textured surface areas applied to said screen mold. A slurry of mineral fibers is injected under pressure into the mold forcing excess water therethrough leaving the fibers impinged within the mold. The log thus formed is dried in an oven and processed for additional decorative coatings.

  • Patent number: 5971360
Abstract: A lifting and support device for elevating self-propelled lawn mowers or lawn tractors comprising, a support frame having wheels with adjustable equipment engagement and stabilization brackets extending therefrom. An activation bar handle extending from said support frame in an angular relation thereto so that the elevated lawn mower equipment moves past a vertical lift line for stabilization.

  • Patent number: 5271888
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process and partible mold for forming a light-weight synthetic ceramic log for use in natural gas, propane and wood-burning fireplaces and stoves which are both fully-vented and non-vented depending upon the particular design of the heat generating equipment. In the subject process, a flexible porous patterned screen is formed simulating the exterior bark portion of a tree or log having a reverse image. Such screen is designed with both porous and non-porous surface characteristics for mounting as a separate element within the partible mold. The flexible porous patterned screen is mounted within the partible mold having major interior surface areas which are capable of connection to a vacuum source for withdrawing water from a liquid composition containing ceramic fibers to rapidly form the ceramic log within the mold during short periods of vacuum molding.
