  • Patent number: 11394337
Abstract: A soft start circuit for a mixer is provided that includes an input for receiving an analog voltage representing a raw target speed; a current mirror for causing a speed target to change at a constant rate when the raw target speed represents a change from a current speed; and a comparator for receiving and comparing the raw target speed and an output from the current mirror and restricting the output from exceeding the raw target speed in order to restrict a soft start to only impede the speed target change when the raw target speed is increasing while not impeding the speed target change when the raw target speed is decreasing. The output of the soft start circuit is an analog representation of a soft start modified desired target speed.

  • Publication number: 20170061749
Abstract: A progress tracking mechanism provided on a home appliance is disclosed herein and includes a plurality of light sources and a controller electrically coupled to the light sources. When a timed activity is being performed by the home appliance, the controller selectively controls an operational state of each of the light sources to visually indicate the progress of the timed activity.

  • Publication number: 20160256003
Abstract: A kitchen appliance includes a housing, a container seat disposed proximate an upper portion of the housing, and a container defining a processing chamber. The container has a base that matingly engages the container seat. A weight scale is disposed within the container seat, wherein engagement of the container with a portion of the container seat places the container in communication with the weight scale.

  • Patent number: 8011825
Abstract: A mixing system comprising a bowl, mixing element and motor. A mixing element is located within the bowl and is driven by a motor to impart mechanical energy to the foodstuff being mixed upon contact. A method for increasing the power to the motor comprises introducing additional current in advance of instantaneous loading.

  • Patent number: 7882734
Abstract: A mixing system comprising a bowl, mixing element and motor. A mixing element is located within the bowl and is driven by a motor to impart mechanical energy to the foodstuff being mixed upon contact. A method for predicting instantaneous loading on the mixing system motor. A method for increasing the power to the motor comprises introducing additional current in advance of instantaneous loading. A method for identifying the foodstuff being mixed to control operation of the mixer either by allowing user interaction or increasing the current to the motor in advance of instantaneous loading and demands on the motor.
