  • Publication number: 20140229010
Abstract: The method and apparatus are used to determine class, grade and properties of fuel samples, regardless of ambient, instrument, or sample temperature, using mathematical correlations between fuel class, grade and properties and their spectra developed from a database of samples with measured properties and spectra. The ability to measure a fuel sample using the present method and apparatus is useful in identifying unknown fuel samples, determining suitability in equipment, and monitoring and controlling fuel processes, such as blending operations, distillation, and synthesis.

  • Publication number: 20140048528
Abstract: The food pan assembly of the present disclosure includes a food pan with a well for storing food, and two separate heating pads for supplying heat to food that may be placed in the pan. The heating pads are connected to an exterior side of the pan on a bottom and side surfaces. This allows for improved flexibility in heating options over what is currently available. The heating pads can be independently powered and controlled, according to specific demands for the food to be heated.

  • Patent number: 8033207
Abstract: An electrically actuated weapon system is provided, which may be mounted in a robotic vehicle or device, and controlled remotely by a user. In particular, the electrically actuated weapon system is composed of an electrically actuated weapon, a weapon control means connected thereto, and a controller means remotely located therefrom. The controller means is in wireless communication with the weapon control means, which is operable to control three linear actuators which cycle the weapon. These linear actuator means are controlled electronically, based on communications received from the controller means. Accordingly, if the weapon is stolen, lost, or captured by an enemy combatant during combat, the weapon will cease to be functional. Further, the weapon can be reliably operated from remote locations, as the cycling of the weapon is not dependent upon recoil forces.

  • Patent number: 7069732
Abstract: A temperature control system for maintaining a food product at an acceptable temperature having a pan with a thermally conductive wall, a first member surrounding the thermally conductive wall, and a channel being formed between the first member and the thermally conductive wall. The temperature control system has a fluid in the channel for contacting the pan at a first location and a refrigeration coil being connected to a portion of the thermally conductive wall for cooling the pan. The temperature control system further has a second member for surrounding a first portion of the thermally conductive wall. The second member and the fluid maximize heat transfer at a first portion of the thermally conductive wall. The second member minimizes heat transfer at a second location of the thermally conductive wall.

  • Patent number: 5532456
Abstract: Disclosed is a temperature and humidity controllable doorless oven for cooking, warming and storing food products for extended periods of time. The oven includes a cabinet having interior walls and exterior walls which form an air duct between the walls. An interior oven chamber is formed within the interior walls with the cabinet providing an access opening into the interior oven chamber. A controllable heating element generates a warm environment inside the interior oven chamber and a humidifier generates a moist environment. To maintain the warm and moist environment inside the interior oven chamber, an air stream which forms an air curtain is moved through the air duct and across the access opening.

  • Patent number: 5461878
Abstract: A heat transfer device for cooling a fluid has powered means for moving the fluid to create a primary fluid flow, a heat exchanger, and direction controlling surfaces for directing the primary fluid flow toward and through a first portion of the heat exchanger, thereby cooling the fluid flow. The direction controlling surfaces then split the primary fluid flow into a first and second subsidiary fluid flow, and direct the second subsidiary fluid flow through a second portion of the heat exchanger, thereby cooling it to a second temperature which is lower than the first temperature.
