Abstract: A software system development apparatus is provided. The software system development apparatus may include a processor and a computer-readable medium operatively coupled to the processor. The apparatus may also include a system design tool program stored on the computer-readable medium that, when executed by the processor, is operable to generate a real-time embedded control software system by selecting from a collection of reusable software components stored in a catalog. The system design tool may also be configured to establish compatibility information about the compatibility of the software system with other real-time embedded control system components and package the compatibility information together with the software system onto a computer-readable medium as an installation package.

Abstract: A system design environment includes a Reusable Asset Specification (“RAS”) based database including information related to hardware components. The design environment may also include a controller. The controller may be configured to accept a user input including at least one desired system parameter. The controller may also be configured to identify from the RAS based database at least one hardware component that contributes to satisfaction of the desired system parameter. The controller may be further configured to output a specification for a system including the at least one hardware component.

Abstract: In order to enhance an operator's ability to control a work machine, an operator control station includes a seat assembly that is moveably mounted to a body of the work machine. The operator can control, at least in part, primary operator controllable aspects of the work machine by manipulating work machine operating controls attached to move with the seat assembly. The operator can monitor a work machine operating condition, at least in part, via a work machine operating condition display panel also attached to move with the seat assembly. In addition, the operator control station is interchangeable among a plurality of work machines of different types and sizes.
