  • Publication number: 20220105285
Abstract: A respiratory therapy management system includes intelligent valved holding chamber devices (IVHCs) corresponding to patients. Each IVHC generates air inflow data during an inhalation therapy session, and determines an inhalation technique score for the session. For each IVHC, a mobile computing device receives and processes inhalation technique scores; generates composite inhalation technique scores and inhalation therapy regimen compliance scores corresponding to multiple inhalation therapy sessions; and presents visual representations of such scores. A remote therapy management server manages patient incentive awards; provides a social media platform and/or games accessible to patients; and communicates with physician computing devices to facilitate physician review of composite inhalation technique scores and inhalation therapy regimen compliance scores, and physician access to the social media platform.

  • Patent number: 10898708
Abstract: Systems and methods for applying a pulsed electromagnetic fields. A system for applying a pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) to a cell, comprising: a sensor for obtaining a characteristic of the cell; a memory module having stored therein a plurality of characteristics and PEMF efficacy window data, each characteristic having its corresponding PEMF efficacy window data; a pulse generator coupled to a set of PEMF coils and configured to generate an output of electrical pulses to drive the set of PEMF coils; and a controller in communication with the sensor, the memory module and the pulse generator, wherein the controller is configured to: retrieve, from the memory module, the PEMF efficacy window data that corresponds to the characteristic of the cell obtained by the sensor; and control the output of the pulse generator based on the retrieved PEMF efficacy window data such that the set of PEMF coils apply a PEMF in accordance with the PEMF efficacy window data.

  • Publication number: 20200390988
Abstract: A spacer device for an inhaler. The device may include a hollow tube. The device may also include a piston member configured to be inserted into the hollow tube such that a space between a first end of the hollow tube and the piston member may define a chamber for holding a mist released from the inhaler. The piston may be slidable along the hollow tube towards the first end of the hollow tube as the mist is aspirated from the chamber. The hollow tube and the piston member may cooperate to provide a visual indication of the progress of the aspiration of the mist from the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20170296326
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to stent graft devices for endovascular repair of aneurysms. A stent graft device according to the present disclosure comprises: a membrane defining a lumen between a proximal end and a distal end of the membrane, the lumen for fluid communication distally therethrough; a plurality of fenestrations disposed on the membrane and fluidly communicable with the lumen; and a plurality of protrusions carried by the membrane, each protrusion extending inwardly into or outwardly from the lumen. Fluid communicated from the plurality of fenestrations is deflectable or deflected by the plurality of protrusions.

  • Publication number: 20170164869
Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking shape and orientation of an endoscope employ motion tracking sensors to track locations on the endoscope for use in determining real time shape and distal end orientation for display during navigation of the endoscope. An example system includes sensor units distributed along the endoscope and a control unit. The sensor units track motion of the endoscope locations and transmit resulting tracking data to a control unit. The control unit processes the tracking data to determine shape of the endoscope and orientation of the distal end of the endoscope. The control unit generates output to a display unit that causes the display unit to display one or more representations indicative of the shape of the endoscope and orientation of the distal end of the endoscope for reference by an endoscope operator during an endoscopic procedure.
