Abstract: An interactive device includes antennas, one or more transceivers coupled to the antennas, one or more feedback devices, and one or more processors coupled to the one or more transceivers and the one or more feedback devices. The one or more processors receive, via the one or more transceivers, the signals from a computing device. Additionally, the one or more processors may determine a time of flight corresponding to receipt of the signals by the antennas. The one or more processors also determine position information, orientation information, or both, of the interactive device based on the time of flight. Further, the one or more processors transmit the position information, the orientation information, or both, to an environment controller via the one or more transceivers. Further still, the one or more processors activate the one or more feedback devices based on the position information, the orientation information, or both.

Abstract: An entertainment system includes a first storage area and a second storage area. Further, the system includes a first communicator and a second communicator each configured to read information from an interactive object, wherein the first communicator is configured to monitor the first storage area and the second communicator is configured to monitor the second storage area. A controller of the system includes a processor and a memory. The controller is configured to receive data from the communicators and query a database to determine one or more profiles associated with the data, determine a special effect associated with a first profile and a special effect associated with a second profile, and provide a command to present the first special effect at a first location based on the first storage area and provide a command to present the second special effect at a second location based on the second storage area.

Abstract: An interactive way-finder system includes an interactive way-finder device having device communications circuitry and a display that displays one or more hands pointing in the direction of a destination based on proximity information received from communications circuitry of a destination. The destination is represented on the display as a displayed destination and may be an attraction, a restaurant, an amusement park exit, restrooms, or the like. The destination may be selected based on user input, on location of the interactive way-finder system in the amusement park, or based on a user profile. The communication between the interactive way-finder device and the destination may enable special effects at the destination, onboard effects on the interactive way-finder device, or both. The interactive way-finder device may be capable of operating in several different modes.

Abstract: An interactive system includes a server coupled to one or more databases storing a user profile. The interactive system also includes a shareable device including one or more processors, one or more memory storing a shareable device identifier (ID), one or more feedback devices, and ultra-wideband (UWB) circuitry. The shareable device is communicatively coupled to the server, and the one or more processors are configured to receive a user ID (e.g., a string and/or numeric code associated with a user's profile and transmitted by a user device) via the UWB circuitry, transmit the user ID to the server, transmit the shareable device ID to the server subsequent to receiving the user ID, receive a pairing indication from the server subsequent to transmitting the user ID to the server, and generate a control signal that causes the one or more feedback devices to activate based on the pairing indication.

Abstract: A system that includes an interactive object comprising a special effects system, a controller that controls operation of the special effects system, and environmental sensors configured to generate sensor data. The system includes a central controller that operates to receive user profiles and receive sensor data from the environmental sensors of an interactive environment. The central controller is then able to identify a user based on the collected sensor data, wherein the identified user is associated with the interactive object. The central controller is then able to characterize a movement of the interactive object based on the sensor data and communicate instructions to the controller of the interactive object to activate a special effect of the special effect system, wherein the instructions are based on the user profile, the user profile being associated with the identified user, and the characterized movement or action of the interactive object.
