Publication number: 20240080180Abstract: The federated learning system includes a moderator and client devices. Each client device performs a method for verifying model update as follows: receiving a hash function and a general model; training a client model according to the general model and raw data; calculating a difference as an update parameter between the general model and the client model, sending the update parameter to the moderator; inputting the update parameter to the hash function to generate a hash value; sending the hash value to other client devices, and receiving other hash values; summing all the hash values to generate a trust value; receiving an aggregation parameter calculated according to the update parameters; inputting the aggregation parameter to the hash function to generate a to-be-verified value; and updating the client model according to the aggregation parameter when the to-be-verified value equals the trust value.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2022Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Chih-Fan HSU, Wei-Chao CHEN, Jing-Lun Huang, Ming-Ching Chang, Feng-Hao Liu

Patent number: 11841586Abstract: A liquid crystal display has position-adjustable light sources. The light sources may be lamps, LEDs, or other emissive components. The light sources, however, are movable to adjust the locations or positions of their light outputs. The light sources ride upon electromagnet carriers. When currents are applied to the electromagnet carriers, each electromagnet carrier creates a corresponding magnetic field. The magnetic fields cause neighboring electromagnet carriers to attract or to repel, depending on the magnitude/polarity of the currents. The lateral and vertical positions of the electromagnet carriers may thus be adjusted by varying their respective currents and magnetic fields. Because the light sources ride on the electromagnet carriers, the light sources may be moved to refine an image generated by the liquid crystal display. The light sources, for example, may be moved to improve white/black contracts to reduce halo-effects.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2022Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Ching-Feng Chen, Chao-Kai Huang, Yi-Fan Wang, Meng-Feng Hung, Wei-Ching Hsu

Patent number: 8823785Abstract: A display system including a display apparatus for displaying a first image and a second image, two first lenses and two second lenses is provided. When a viewer sees the display apparatus via one first lenses and one second lenses, and the first image as well as the second image are parallax images, the first and second images are respectively saw by different eyes of the viewer. When the viewer sees the display apparatus through the two first lenses, and the first image as well as the second image are not parallax images, the first image irrelevant to the second image is saw by the viewer. When the viewer sees the display apparatus through the two second lenses, and the first image as well as the second image are not parallax images, the second image irrelevant to the first image is saw by the viewer.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2011Date of Patent: September 2, 2014Assignee: Au Optronics CorporationInventors: Wei-Ching Hsu, Cheng-Han Tsao, Ken-Yu Liu, Chia-Chih Kao, Chao-Yuan Chen
