Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to a gaming system capable of providing progressive level alerts or promotions when a progressive jackpot reaches a predetermined value. In one embodiment, the user is able to register for a progressive level alert. In another embodiment, the progressive level alert is presented on an affiliated or third party website. By providing progressive jackpot amount information, the user, who may not otherwise patronize a casino, is encouraged to visit the particular casino offering games capable of awarding a progressive jackpot prize of a predetermined amount.

Abstract: Panels of serum metabolic biomarkers and methods of their use in detecting and diagnosing cancer, especially ovarian cancer, are disclosed. The metabolic biomarker panels include 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, or more metabolites. Supervised classification methods, such as trained support vector machines (SVMs) are used to determine whether the levels of metabolic biomarkers in a subject are indicative of the presence of cancer. The disclosed biomarkers and methods preferably allow a diagnosis of cancer with an accuracy, a specificity, and/or a sensitivity of at least 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98% or 99%.

Abstract: A data model containing orbital parameters is stored in a mobile device. When a First Fix is required by a GNSS system within the mobile device, these stored orbital parameters are used to rapidly generate accurate satellite trajectory data model. The stored orbital parameters may be modified in part or in whole as required by changing coefficients of the stored parameters.

Abstract: A data model is built using satellite ephemeris data collected over an extended period of time, allowing generation on a server of very precise orbital parameters preferably using a force or numerical method. These orbital parameters are stored in a mobile device. When a First Fix is required by a GNSS system within the mobile device, these stored orbital parameters are used to rapidly generate accurate satellite trajectory data model without requiring access to a broadcasted ephemeris or a network connection. The stored orbital parameters may be modified in part or in whole as required by changing coefficients of the stored parameters.

Abstract: In one aspect, a cradle system for supporting a load, the cradle system comprising a first arm with a first carriage assembly axially adjustable therealong and a second arm, opposite the first arm, with a second carriage assembly axially adjustable therealong. An actuator is associated with the first and second carriage assemblies and configured such that actuation of the actuator causes the first and second carriage assemblies to move axially in opposite directions. In another aspect, a cable support system comprising a support column and one or more tethers supported by the support column and configurable so that at least one tether is configured to move its supported cable in the same or opposite direction as the test head moves at a rate that is a constant multiplied by the test heads rate of motion where the constant may be greater than, equal to, or less than one.

Abstract: An uplink power control technique may include a simplified maximum sector throughput (SMST) and a generalized maximum sector throughput (GMST). The SMST and GMST techniques may be used to determine a maximum sector throughput and cell-edge throughput to enhance the overall efficiency of the communication system. The uplink power control technique may determine the optimal uplink power value without collecting interference over thermal noise and without computing the individual channel losses in each neighboring sector.

Abstract: Techniques are described that provide uplink power control techniques that can support different uplink multi-input multi-output (MIMO) transmission schemes. Open and closed loop power control schemes can be used to prescribe the power level of the mobile station.

Abstract: A test head manipulator system comprising a base structure, a main arm unit configured to support a test head and to be moved relative to the base structure, an actuator having a range of motion of L, and an enhancement mechanism positioned between the main arm unit and the actuator and configured such that movement of the actuator a first distance causes the main arm unit to move a second distance that is greater than the first distance. Additionally, a fluid control system for controlling a test head manipulator system. The pneumatic control system includes a regulator configured to controllably provide an output pressure to the main fluid actuator, and a second fluidly controlled actuator configured to adjust the regulator to modify the output pressure provided to the main fluid actuator. The second actuator is configured to be positively positioned in at least four operating modes with each operating mode causing the regulator to provide a different output pressure to the main fluid actuator.

Abstract: Techniques are described that can be used to determine a transmitter power level of a mobile station based on spectrum efficiency gain and loss. Spectrum efficiency gain is measured for a home sector base station. Spectrum efficiency loss is measured for base stations other than the home sector base station. In one example, a base station transmits information such as noise plus interference level to a mobile station and the mobile station determines the transmitter power level. In another example, the mobile station transmits information such as preamble signal strength and preamble total signal strength to the home sector base station and the home sector base station determines the transmitter power level and instructs the mobile station to apply the determined transmitter power level.

Abstract: A firmware extension method is provided, particularly adaptable for an embedded system. Firstly, a baseline firmware image is provided with a header file. Secondly, an extension firmware image is generated based on the header file, comprising one or more extended functions. Thereafter, a callback table is generated, comprising pointers pointing to entries of the extended functions in the extension firmware image. The baseline firmware image, the extension firmware image and the callback table are then merged to generate a merged firmware image.
