Abstract: A resistive touch panel includes an ITO layer, a glass layer, and an insulation layer sandwiched between the ITO layer and the glass layer. The ITO layer is cut into a continuous zigzag-shaped ITO strip by a number of first and second etched lines which are equidistantly spaced and arranged in an alternate fashion. The ITO strip is connected between a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The glass layer includes an ITO covering portion and a peripheral output bus surrounding the ITO covering portion. The resistance touch panel defines a Cartesian coordinate system for locating a touch point thereon, each touch point spatially corresponding to a given position on the ITO strip, the power supply generates a given voltage at given position of the ITO strip, the output bus transmits a signal associated with the voltage to an outside processor. A related electronic device is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20140168101
Abstract: An apparatus capable of erasing content includes a touch display unit, a time calculating time, a storage unit, an area detecting unit, a control unit, and an erasing unit. The touch display unit determines a first touched place of a touch operation applied by an input apparatus on the touch display unit, a touch area of the first touched place, and a touch trace of the touch operation according to changing of touch coordinates. The control unit activates the time calculating unit to calculate a time duration of the touch operation when the size of the touch area is larger than the predetermined area size, and generates an erasing signal when the touch trace matches a predetermined trace pattern. The erasing unit erases content covered by the touch trace on the touch display unit in response to the erasing signal. A related method is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20140160018
Abstract: An image projection system includes a projector connected to a host computer to display images on a projection screen, an image capture device, and an operation pen. The operation pen emits a laser beam and has buttons. The image capturing device captures a photo with a point part of the projected image on which the laser beam falls. The host computer compares the photo with the image being supplied by the host computer to determine the point part being pointed by the laser beam, receives wireless control signals from the operation pen, and executes actions of buttons of the operation pen.

  • Publication number: 20140092058
Abstract: An electronic device includes a main body and at least one wireless touch panel. Each wireless touch panel includes a touch-sensitive module, a processing module, a wireless energy receiving module, and a first wireless communication module. The wireless energy receiving module receives electromagnetic energy from the main body and converts the received electromagnetic energy into electric energy to power other function modules of the wireless touch panel. The touch-sensitive module produces touch signals in response to a user's touch operations, and the first wireless communication module sends the touch signals to the main body to activate corresponding functions of the electronic device. The first wireless communication module also receives wireless control signals from the main body, and the processing module activates functions of the wireless touch panel in response to the wireless control signals.

  • Publication number: 20130141084
Abstract: An electromagnetic input device includes a handheld magnetized stylus, an electromagnetic input panel including an induction layer, a controller, and a storage device. The induction layer includes a plurality of closed-loop inductor coils which output an induced current when experiencing the magnetic flux of the stylus. The storage device stores a pre-determined table recording mapping relationship between location coordinates of the stylus on the electromagnetic input panel in each of the inductor coils, and intensities of the corresponding induced current generated therein. The controller determines which inductor coil generates the induced current, and the intensity of the induced current, and further determines the location of the stylus on the electromagnetic input panel based upon determined inductor coil which generates the induced current and the intensity of the induced current generated therein, and the pre-determined table.
