Publication number: 20260050460Abstract: To pin pages of a virtual memory space allocated to a virtual machine (VM) controlling an input/output (I/O) device of a system, an input/output memory management unit (IOMMU) driver of the VM first loads pinning commands into a queue that indicate whether each page in the virtual memory space is to be pinned or unpinned. A hardware-based IOMMU of the system then retrieves the pinning commands from the queue and based on the retrieved commands, provides data to a hypervisor of the system indicating which pin commands are to be performed.
