Abstract: This application discloses a protection circuit associated with a battery management system (BMS). The protection circuit includes a first protection module and a freewheeling module. The first protection module is connected in parallel to a first switch module of the BMS, and the freewheeling module is connected in parallel to a load module of the BMS. The first protection module switches to a charging state when the first switch module is turned off to stabilize a voltage between a first terminal of the first switch module and a second terminal of the first switch module. The freewheeling module is turned on when the first switch module is turned off to stabilize a voltage between the first switch module and the second switch module. The protection circuit mitigates risks of breakdown of the first switch module, and prevents a parasitic inductance from limiting a switching frequency of the first switch module.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for providing merchant recommendations comprises receiving, by a processor, raw merchant embeddings generated from payment transaction records, wherein the raw merchant embeddings include a plurality of embedded features entangled in an embedding space. The processor uses transaction metadata associated with the payment transaction records to determine a subspace of an identified feature within the embedding space. A linear transformation process then removes the subspace of the identified feature from the embedding space to create modified merchant embeddings that are merged and aligned with other ones of the plurality of features within the embedding space. The processor automatically generates a list of merchant rankings based on the modified merchant embeddings, past preferences of a target user using raw user embeddings, and a target region, and provides the list of merchant rankings to the target user.

Abstract: A method for positioning an object positioned on a table is provided. The method may include: obtaining a plan image, the plan image illustrating a virtual surface of the object; obtaining, by one or more capture devices, a 3-dimensional (3D) image, the 3D image including a set of elements corresponding to the object; obtaining a registration result by registering the plan image and the 3D image; determining whether the object needs to be moved based on the registration result; and in response to a determination that the object needs to be moved, causing the object to move according to the registration result.

Abstract: An automated model development tool can be used for automatically developing a model (e.g., an analytical model). The automated model development tool can perform various automated operations for automatically developing the model including, for example, performing automated operations on variables in a data set that can be used to develop the model. The automated operations can include automatically analyzing the predictor variables. The automated operations can also include automatically binning (e.g., combining) data associated with the predictor variables to provide monotonicity between the predictor variables and one or more output variables. The automated operations can further include automatically reducing the number of predictor variables in the data set and using the reduced number of predictor variables to develop the analytical model.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for a wireless device to indicate a preferred bandwidth part and duty cycle in a cellular communication system. A wireless device and a cellular base station may establish a radio resource control connection. The wireless device may transmit an indication of a preferred bandwidth part, or a preferred communication duty cycle, or both, to the cellular base station. The cellular base station may select a bandwidth part, or communication duty cycle, or both, based at least in part on the indication provided by the wireless device, and may transmit an indication of the selected bandwidth part, communication duty cycle, or both, to the wireless device. The cellular base station and the wireless device may perform cellular communication using the selected bandwidth part, communication duty cycle, or both.

Abstract: An enhanced listen-before-talk procedure may be performed by a device for efficiently accessing and utilizing available resources. The procedure may include specifying input parameter values pertaining to intended wireless communications of the device, adjusting output parameter values based on the input parameter values and an access history of the device, and determining whether to access at least a portion of the wireless communication resources to conduct the wireless communications, based at least on the output parameter values. The output parameter values may pertain to wireless communication resources accessible to the device, and the access history may keep track of wireless communication resource accesses previously made by the device.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a battery heating system and a control method thereof. The battery heating system includes a main positive switch, a main negative switch, an inverter, a motor, and a battery management unit. The inverter includes a first phase bridge arm, a second phase bridge arm and a third phase bridge arm connected in parallel. A motor controller in the inverter is configured to output a drive signal to a target upper-bridge-arm switch unit and a target lower-bridge-arm switch unit, so as to control the target upper-bridge-arm switch unit and the target lower-bridge-arm switch unit to be periodically turned on and off. The battery management unit is configured to collect state parameters of the battery pack. When the state parameters of the battery pack meet preset heating conditions, a control signal is sent to the motor controller to control the motor controller to output the drive signal.

Abstract: Steering mechanisms for use in RSS systems may be devoid of an elastomeric piston seal. Pistons of the steering mechanisms have a convex cross-section that permit the piston to pivot along with a steering pad while moving laterally or radially along a piston axis defined by a piston bore. Hydraulic pressure may be maintained as the pad is extended since a limited gap size between the piston and the bore may be maintained throughout the motion of the pistons. The pistons may be retained to the steering pad in a T-slot and may be elongated in a direction orthogonal to the axis of the piston bore. A groove may be provided around the piston for a receiving a back-up seal therein. The back-up seal may include wear resistant balls embedded in a matrix, and balls may be preloaded to serve as flow restrictors even when worn.
