Abstract: A photodetector including a substrate having a semiconductor material layer, such as a silicon-containing layer, and a germanium-based well embedded in the semiconductor material layer, where a gap is located between a lateral side surface of the germanium-based well and the surrounding semiconductor material layer. The gap between the lateral side surface of the germanium-based well and the surrounding semiconductor material layer may reduce the surface contact area between the germanium-containing material of the well and the surrounding semiconductor material, which may be a silicon-based material. The formation of the gap located between a lateral side surface of the germanium-based well and the surrounding semiconductor material layer may help minimize the formation of crystal defects, such as slips, in the germanium-based well, and thereby reduce the dark current and improve photodetector performance.

Abstract: A method of forming a semiconductor device includes: forming a patterned hard mask layer on a semiconductor substrate; performing a first etching process to form a recess in an exposed portion of the semiconductor substrate, using a first etchant that includes a first halogen species; performing a second etching process using a second etchant that includes a second halogen species, such that the second halogen species forms a barrier layer in the semiconductor substrate, surrounding the recess; and growing a detection region in the recess using an epitaxial growth process. The barrier layer is configured to reduce diffusion of the first halogen species into the detection region.

Abstract: A coring tool, a coring method, and use thereof are provided. The coring tool has a differential device for selective force transmission and a core gripping device for core cutting operations arranged within the housing. The core gripping device has a retractable core gripper, a slip-collar type core gripper and a shielding mechanism. The shielding mechanism is configured to be actuated by the differential device, so that the slip-collar type core gripper is shielded during coring operation and a first core cutting operation to avoid accidental core cutting operation, and to be exposed during a second core cutting operation to complete the whole core cutting operation.

Abstract: A binder composite, based on a mass of the binder composite, the binder composite includes the following components: main resin, 50% to 80%, the main resin including isotactic polyolefin resin, syndiotactic polyolefin resin, and atactic polyolefin resin; a tackifier, 5% to 20%; a toughener, 5% to 20%; and a plasticizer, 5% to 10%. Through selection of suitable components in appropriate proportions, the binder composite in this application achieves strong adhesion force and electrochemical stability. When applied in electrochemical apparatuses, the binder composite not only reduces the occurrence of internal short circuits resulting from the connection of positive and negative electrode plates in the electrochemical apparatuses, but also reduces side reactions between the binder composite and the electrolyte, thus reducing the formation of purple spots.

Abstract: The invention belongs to the field of rubber tire processing, and particularly discloses an application of a lignin in preparing a radial tire, wherein the lignin is capable of completely or partially replacing resorcinol, and meanwhile, the lignin is also capable of completely or partially replacing an anti-aging agent. Compared with the prior art, the resorcinol is replaced or partially replaced by a biomass-derived lignin or a modified lignin in the invention, so that requirements of cost reduction, environmental protection and no toxicity are satisfied.
