  • Patent number: 4295698
Abstract: An electrical connector housing for removably retaining an electrical contact consisting of a dielectric body with a passageway having a flexible latch which cooperates with a forward stop and abutment shoulders to lock the contact in the housing without interfering with the termination section of the contact.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 21, 1979
Date of Patent: October 20, 1981
    Assignee: Bunker Ramo Corporation

  • Patent number: 4285561
Abstract: A novel mass termination assembly for flat cable is disclosed for use with cable having very closely spaced conductors. The assembly includes connector means to terminate selected conductors, isolation means to inactivate certain other selected conductors at the locus of the termination and bridging means to electrically couple the inactivated conductors to the connector means. The assembly allows the use of insulation-piercing termination devices without the danger of shorting between the closely spaced adjacent conductors.

  • Patent number: 4264115
Abstract: An electrical connector useful for interconnecting circuits of adjacent guided missile stages and the like includes first and second interengageable housings. Each connector housing supports contact members which are interengageable when the first and second housings are brought into engagement. Actuator means are provided for engaging and disengaging the connector contact members independent of the engagement and disengagement of the connector housings and include a movable insert member disposed within the second housing for movement between mating and non-mating positions. The contact members supported within the second housing each include a terminal portion, an active contact portion carried by the insert member for engagement with a first housing contact member, and an extendable portion for maintaining continuous electrical connection between the active and terminal portions as the insert member is moved between its mating and non-mating positions.

  • Patent number: 4195898
Abstract: A patchcord connector for use in terminating a plurality of insulated conductors and interconnecting the conductors to a modular terminal board includes a housing having first and second interlockable molded body members. A plurality of contact elements are disposed within the housing and include terminal contact portions having insulation-piercing members for terminating the insulated conductors as the body members are assembled and interlocked. To afford simple and rapid field assembly of the connector, the connector includes gripping members integral with each contact element for securely maintaining each insulated conductor in a terminating position within the connector prior to and during interlocking of the body members and termination of the conductors. Strain relief means are also provided for retaining each conductor within the connector housing when the first and second body members are in a finally assembled and interlocked position.

  • Patent number: 4194800
Abstract: A connector assembly suitable for connecting a leadless integrated circuit device to a circuit board. The circuit device typically has a plurality of flat conductive pads spaced along parallel edges thereof. The circuit board similarly typically has a plurality of flat conductive pads spaced along parallel first and second rows. The connector assembly includes a pair of anchor plates bonded to the circuit board and spaced by a distance just sufficient to accommodate said integrated circuit device therebetween. First and second banks of elongated essentially parallel contacts are fixedly connected, as by solder, to the circuit board pads. When the removable circuit device is placed on the circuit board between the anchor plates, connection from the fixedly connected contact banks to the circuit device pads is made by first and second banks of flexible parallel bridging contacts.
