  • Publication number: 20240273575
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for optimizing user experience/engagement and revenue. An example embodiment operates by a computer-implemented method for providing one or more advertisements to a media device. The method includes receiving, by at least one computer processor, a user state associated with a user of the media device, where the user state corresponds to a time step. The method further includes receiving a revenue value associated with the user of the media device, where the revenue value corresponds to the time step. The method also include determining an action associated with the user based on the user state and the revenue value. The action includes one or more parameters associated with the one or more advertisements. The method further includes providing the action to the user.

  • Publication number: 20240127106
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for online automatic hyperparameter tuning of a machine learning model that provides a user experience to media devices such that the machine learning model maximizes (or minimizes) an objective function. An example embodiment operates by generating an initial set of hyperparameter configurations for a machine learning model based on sampling data received from media devices over a network. The embodiment then determines, using an hyperparameter tuning method, a hyperparameter configuration based on the initial set of hyperparameter configurations that causes a training of the machine learning model using a learning algorithm to maximize an objective function. The embodiment then trains the machine learning model according to the determined hyperparameter configuration using the learning algorithm.

  • Patent number: 10915336
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for selecting content components to include in portions of a content page under various constraints and according to various effectiveness considerations. Organizing the content components may include considering the expected user engagement with the content components, while simultaneously endeavoring to comply with certain content constraints imposed on the system. The content constraints may be complied with to the greatest extent possible before the expected user engagement with the page is adversely impacted to an unacceptable degree. The content constraints may be imposed across an entire set of content pages, such that only the content pages in the aggregate are expected to comply with a global constraint. This allows for maximizing the expected user engagement while assembling a content page without unduly constraining each content page, where those global constraints may be known to reduce expected user engagement in some instances.

  • Publication number: 20190000346
Abstract: A system and method for skin conductance-based regulation of an electronic device is described. The system includes a processor configured to receive, data representative of skin conductance of a user; determine, a conductance for the user as a function of a temperature and the skin conductance; and adjust, the temperature based on the determined conductance.

  • Publication number: 20180364135
Abstract: A method to determine an operational status of one appliance includes sampling a plurality of sensors monitoring operation of a plurality of appliances. The sampling producing composite sensor measurements; the sensors not dedicated to any particular appliance. Filtering the composite sensor measurements for information for the one appliance is accomplished to remove sampled data that represents appliances other than the one appliance. A comparison of the sensor data for the one appliance with the reference information of the one appliance is determined. If an operation anomaly is present in the information for the particular appliance, a notification is transmitted to a user device concerning the operation of the one appliance.

  • Publication number: 20180343499
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described including receiving sensor data from at least one of a plurality of sensors in a sensor array associated with an environment, detecting a pattern in the received sensor data, determining a profile of at least one user present in the environment from a correlation between the detected pattern and patterns in a first database, determining an action to be performed responsive to the determined age range of the at least one user in the environment to actions associated with the user profile in a second database and performing the determined action on received content.
