  • Patent number: 9699693
Abstract: An architecture is described that can provide enhancement with respect to circuit switched fall back. In particular, the architecture can reduce the signaling and delay of conventional systems that are necessitated by establishing a radio resource control connection prior to establishing the circuit switched fall back connection. For example, when user equipment is not in a radio resource control connected state at the time of a circuit switched fall back call, the radio resource control connection can be at least partially avoided by responding to a radio resource control connection request message with a radio resource control connection reject message that includes target cell reselection information.

  • Publication number: 20120280813
Abstract: An apparatus includes a memory containing a subscriber entitlement profile for a subscriber to a wireless communications network. The apparatus includes a controller configured to provide an indication of whether the subscriber is entitled to a service based on the subscriber entitlement profile. The memory and controller may be included in an integrated circuit card. The service may be unassociated with a rate plan associated with the subscriber. The apparatus may include a service entitlement facility configured to access a service of the communications network based on a user request for the service and the indication. The service entitlement facility may be further configured to determine whether or not a subscriber is entitled to the service of the wireless communications network based on the subscriber entitlement profile stored in the memory and further configured to access the service if the subscriber is entitled to the service.

  • Publication number: 20100192183
Abstract: A multimedia content provider network includes a customer premises equipment (CPE) and a mobile device connected to a provider network. The CPE receives and stores multimedia content from the provider network. The mobile device provides a unique identifier to the CPE for authentication purposes. Responsive to the CPE verifying that the unique identifier is pre-designated as authorized, the CPE provides data representative of a GUI for display at the mobile device, the GUI including a listing of multimedia content recorded at the CPE. A user of the mobile device then can request a particular recorded multimedia content. In response to the request, the CPE encodes the multimedia content and transmits the encoded multimedia content to the mobile device for processing and display at the mobile device.
