A mixing element includes a mixing chamber, an ascending pipe, and a descending pipe. A top of the ascending pipe is fluidly connected to the mixing chamber and a bottom of the ascending pipe has a liquid inlet. The liquid inlet is fluidly connected to the holding space. A top of the descending pipe is fluidly connected to the mixing chamber and a bottom of the descending pipe includes a liquid outlet in fluid communication with the nozzle. A gas intake hole connects the holding space with the mixing chamber.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for fabricating and utilizing segmented hollow fibers. One embodiment is a method for fabricating a hollow fiber. The method includes disposing injection needles at orifices of a die, loading the die with a pool of molten material, driving the molten material through the orifices of the die, and iteratively injecting a gas into the molten material at the orifices via the injection needles and pausing injecting the gas as the molten material is driven through the orifices of the die, resulting in discrete hollow chambers within molten material exiting the die. The method also includes cooling the molten material into a hollow fiber that includes the discrete hollow chambers.

    Abstract: Space vehicles configured with a micrometeoroid and orbital debris (MMOD) protection system are described herein. The MMOD protection system can include (a) a front face sheet and a rear face sheet spaced apart from the front face sheet directed outwardly, and the rear face sheet being positioned to attach to the space launch vehicle; (b) at least one absorption core layer and at least one impact resistant fabric layer positioned between the front face sheet and the rear face sheet; and (c) an expandable adhesive layer carried by the rear face sheet to attach the MMOD protection system to the space launch vehicle. The front face sheet and the rear face sheet can comprise a metal matrix composite. The MMOD protection system can protect the space vehicle from damage in space, while withstanding launch loads, and can accordingly eliminate the need for a protective launch fairing.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a selenium-doped MXene composite nano-material and a preparation method thereof, comprising the following steps: (1) adding MXene and an organic selenium source into a dispersant, and stirring to prepare a dispersion with a concentration of 1 mg/ml to 100 mg/ml; (2) transferring the dispersion into a reaction kettle, then heating, reacting, and then naturally cooling to a room temperature; (3) washing the product obtained in the step (2) with a cleaning agent, then centrifuging to collect a precipitate, and drying the precipitate under vacuum; and (4) placing the sample obtained in the step (3) into a tubular furnace for calcination, introducing protective gas, heating, and then cooling to a room temperature to obtain the selenium-doped MXene composite nano-material. The material prepared by the present invention has high specific surface area, good electrical conductivity, cycle stability performance, rate performance and high theoretical specific capacity.
