  • Publication number: 20230042577
Abstract: Systems and methods for estimating reservoir productivity as a function of position in a subsurface volume of interest are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: obtain an initial depth uncertainty model; obtain training depth uncertainty parameter values from the non-transient storage medium; obtain corresponding training depth uncertainty values; generate a trained depth uncertainty model by training the initial depth uncertainty model using the training depth uncertainty parameter values and the corresponding training depth uncertainty values; and store the trained depth uncertainty model.

  • Patent number: 10353095
Abstract: A method is described for seismic imaging of complex subsurface volumes using prismatic seismic energy. The method receives a seismic dataset and an earth model. The earth model is perturbed such that prismatic reflections will generate perturbed seismic amplitudes in a target area and seismic imaging is performed using the perturbed model. A second seismic image is generated using a second earth model; the second earth model may be the original earth model or a second perturbed model wherein the perturbation generates different seismic amplitudes in the target area. The two seismic images are differenced to generate a prismatic seismic image that can be used to identify geologic features that are poorly illuminated in conventional imaging. The method may be executed by a computer system.

  • Patent number: 9310500
Abstract: A method of developing a velocity model for processing a seismic dataset is implemented at a computer system having a processor and memory. The method includes: deriving a first velocity model from the seismic dataset; building a basin model based on the first velocity model and interpretation of the seismic dataset; validating the basin model using calibration data; deriving a second velocity model from the validated basin model; and updating the first velocity model based, at least in part, on the second velocity model.
