  • Publication number: 20230174697
Abstract: The present invention relates, in general terms, to hydrogels and their uses thereof. The hydrogels demonstrate toughness; i.e. the ability to absorb energy and plastically deform without fracturing. The present invention also relates to methods of fabricating hydrogels. In particular, the method of fabricating a tough hydrogel comprises polymerising a plurality of charged monomers in the presence of multivalent ions in order to form an ion impregnated hydrogel and exposing the ion impregnated hydrogel to heat in order to form the tough hydrogel.

  • Publication number: 20230105923
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for introducing one or more exogenous substances into an immune cell. The method comprises the steps of: providing a membrane having a plurality of pores configured to allow the immune cell to pass through, wherein the plurality of pores has an average pore diameter which is no less than an average diameter of the immune cell nucleus and no more than an average diameter of the immune cell, passing a fluid containing the immune cell and the on e or more exogenous substances through the plurality of pores to induce a mechanical stress to the immune cell and facilitate introduction of the one or more exogenous substances into the immune cell, and recirculating the fluid containing the immune cell and the one or more exogenous substances such that the same immune cell passes through the membrane more than once. In some embodiments, the immune cell is T-cells and the exogenous substance is mRNA.

  • Patent number: 11413812
Abstract: Systems and methods for continuous printing of a three-dimensional (3D) object are provided. The system includes a resin tank, an optical image source, a support fluid reservoir and a pumping structure. The resin tank is where the 3D object is printed and includes a print bed to form a base of the 3D object. The optical image source modulates light in accordance with a 3D image to vary a degree and pattern of crosslinking in a photocrosslinkable resin in the resin tank. The support fluid reservoir is in fluid communication with the resin tank and includes a support fluid which is immiscible with the photocrosslinkable resin. And the pumping structure is configured to transfer the support fluid from the support fluid reservoir to the resin tank such that the support fluid rises in the resin tank at a same rate as vertical height of a top of the 3D object as the 3D object is printed on the print bed.
