  • Publication number: 20240145079
Abstract: Biosensing measurements (e.g., heart rate, pupil size, cognitive load, stress level, etc.) are communicated in the context of events that occurred concurrently with the biosensing measurements. The biosensing measurements and the contextual events can be presented in real-time or as historical summaries. Such presentations allow users to easily gain useful insights into which specific events triggered which specific physiological responses in users. Therefore, the present concepts more effectively communicate insights that can be used to change user behavior, modify workflow, design improved products or services, enhance user satisfaction and wellbeing, increase productivity and revenue, and eliminate negative impacts on user's emotions and mental state.

  • Publication number: 20240119619
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable a realistic, inclusive sense of physical presence for videoconference participants that is comparable to in-person communication. Multiple users are simultaneously provided with an immersive experience without the need for head-mounted displays or other wearable technology. Specifically, a real-time three-dimensional model of a scene at the remote end of the videoconference is received. At the same time, the location and perspective of each local participant is determined. Each local participant is then individually provided with a spatially correct stereoscopic view of the model. The sense of physical presence is created by changing what each local participant sees in response to a change in their perspective. The sense of physical presence is enhanced by enabling direct eye contact, clear communication of emotional state and other non-verbal cues, and a shared visual experience and audio ambience across locations.

  • Publication number: 20240102955
Abstract: A non-invasive time domain reflection probe calibration method includes: using different volume ratio of ethanol and deionized water mixed solution to calculate a test target's medium weight coefficient and waveguide length of the non-invasive time domain reflection probes; using different concentrations of NaCl solutions to calibrate a waveguide geometric dimensioning of the non-invasive time domain reflection probes; preparing compacted soil samples with known different moisture contents and densities, and calibrating a correlation parameter of compacted soil samples' dielectric constant and conductivity with moisture content and density. The method not only determines the sensitivity of the test target medium of the non-invasive time domain reflection probes, but also obtains the waveguide length and geometric dimensioning of the probe, and realizes an accurate test of moisture content and density of the soil.

  • Publication number: 20230369863
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable systems to optimize generation and dispatch of renewable energies using data-driven models. In many contexts, a renewable energy system is collocated with a local consumer such as a datacenter, a smart building, and so forth. The objective of the renewable energy system is to meet local power needs while participating in various energy markets of differing trading frequencies. To optimally manage the renewable energy system, a data-driven model is configured to analyze current conditions and generate policies to control renewable energy system operations. For instance, the model can retrieve current market prices, generation capacity, costs associated with generating energy, and so forth. Based on the collected information, the model can generate a policy that maximizes revenue obtained by the renewable energy system while meeting local demand. Through many iterations, the model can determine a realistically optimal policy for managing the renewable energy system.
