  • Patent number: 8823325
Abstract: A method for checking and modulating battery capacity and power based on charging/discharging characteristics is provided. In terms of discharge, a relationship between an open circuit voltage and an output electric capacity of a battery is measured to obtain a first characteristic curve. A relationship between a voltage and the output electric capacity of a battery at a predetermined maximum charge/discharge current rate is measured to obtain a second characteristic curve. A characteristic boundary line passing the first and the second characteristic points respectively selected from the first and the second characteristic curves is established. A voltage value corresponding to the first characteristic point is higher than a voltage value corresponding to the second characteristic point. The first and the second characteristic curves, and the characteristic boundary line define an operation range. The battery is charged/discharged within the operation range.

  • Patent number: 7190352
Abstract: An electro-tactile panel (ETP) apparatus for a display panel is disclosed. The ETP apparatus is composed of three major parts: a controller, a panel, and a holder. The panel consists of four layer made of transparent material. The first layer is an insulating substrate, the second layer is a conductive layer formed of a plurality of horizontal electrodes on the first layer. The third layer is an insulating layer having holes formed therein, which corresponding to the electrodes on the second layer. The fourth layer is a conductive layer formed of a plurality of vertical electrodes on the third layer. The panel is attached to the display panel by means of the holder apparatus. The electro-tactile signal and cursor position is process by the controller when the skin touches the panel so that some positions of the vertical electrodes and horizontal electrodes are electrically connected through the holes.

  • Patent number: 6930590
Abstract: This application relates to an electrotactile system and method for delivering tactile stimuli to a skin surface of a user. The system includes one or more electrotactile modules each comprising an array of electrodes electrically connected to an integrated circuit. Each integrated circuit has data processing and current driving capability. The current delivered from the integrated circuit to each electrode is relatively small, preferably less than 4 milliamps. The modules may be connected to a flexible PC board by spring-loaded connectors. In one embodiment a plurality of electrotactile modules may be grouped together to from an electrotactile device. Multiple electrotactile devices may in turn be deployed as part of a wearable article for use in virtual reality, telepresence, telerrobotics or other haptic feedback applications. The system is capable receiving and transmitting tactile data via a communication link, such as a conventional data network.

  • Publication number: 20040041743
Abstract: A display apparatus and a method for distributed modules of light-emitting elements, the display apparatus comprising: a plurality of display modules, each comprising: a plurality of total passive clusters, an active control module and an electrical structure module. The total passive clusters and the active control module are attached onto the tube-shaped electrical structure module on one side or both sides. The electrical structure module comprises an interface for data and power transmission between the total passive clusters, the active control module and the electrical structure module such that a display apparatus for distributed modules of light-emitting elements is formed. Since easy assembly, setup, removal, maintenance, re-use, adjustment in display size, excellent display size/weight ratio and both single-sided and double-sided display can be achieved, the display apparatus is suitable for use in temporary display sites.
