Patent number: 12511548Abstract: A technique iteratively updates model weights of a teacher model and a student model. In operation, the teacher model produces noisy original pseudo-labeled training examples from unlabeled training examples. The technique weights the original pseudo-labeled training examples based on validation information. The technique then updates model weights of the student model based on the weighted pseudo-labeled training examples. The validation information, which is used to weight the original pseudo-labeled training examples, is produced by selecting labeled training examples based on an uncertainty-based factor and a similarity-based factor. The uncertainty-based factor describes an extent to which the student model produces uncertain classification results for the set of labeled training examples. The similarity-based factor describes the similarity between the set of labeled training examples and the unlabeled training examples.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2022Date of Patent: December 30, 2025Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Wen Cui, Keng-hao Chang, Pai Chun Lin, Mohammadreza Khalilishoja, Eren Manavoglu

Patent number: 11159357Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for sharing a communication resource. Two transmitters seek to use the same two communication slots to transmit two symbols each to a receiver. At each transmitter, data rotation provides two orthogonal combinations of two input symbols which are transmitted in the two slots. An additional phase rotation between slots at one of the transmitters provides phase diversity. The receiver receives superimposed signals from the transmitters, each slot providing information of all four symbols. Joint detection over the two slots provides coding gain and reliable recovery of all four symbols in the two communication slots. Performance results are provided. Disclosed techniques are lightweight and suitable for resource-constrained IoT devices.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2021Date of Patent: October 26, 2021Assignee: UVic Industry Partnerships Inc.Inventors: Wen Cui, Lin Cai

Patent number: 10015078Abstract: An order jeopardy manager is provided that manages order jeopardy. A jeopardy order condition to be applied to an order is received. The jeopardy order condition includes an order state transition path and a jeopardy time threshold. The order state transition path includes zero or more from-states and one or more to-states to define one or more order state transitions. The order is determined to be in jeopardy when the order fails to complete one of the order state transitions within the jeopardy time threshold. A jeopardy notification is generated, responsive to the determining, indicating that the order is in jeopardy.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2015Date of Patent: July 3, 2018Assignee: ORACLE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONInventors: Brian James Dueck, Wen Cui, Sandra Rolanda Leung, Daniel Hotung Ho

Publication number: 20160232595Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for processing an order with a start-start dependency are disclosed. According to one exemplary method, the method occurs at an order management server that implements an electronic order management system. The order management server includes at least one processor and a memory. The method includes storing an orchestration plan for fulfilling an electronic order for a good or service. The method also includes receiving a request for adding a first order element having a start-start dependency with a second order element in the orchestration plan. The method further includes in response to the request, modifying the orchestration plan to reflect the start-start dependency. The method also includes processing the order in accordance with the orchestration plan.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2015Publication date: August 11, 2016Inventors: Marc John Corlett, Xuan Ju, Wen Cui, Amir-Behzad Roshan-Pazhouh, Weizhong Shen
