It is determined, according to a portion of the motion vectors, which correspond to a plurality of block modes, whether the integer motion vectors of each block mode are substantially equal to those of a corresponding upper-layer block mode of the block mode, so as to determine whether to perform or skip fractional motion estimation of the block mode, wherein each corresponding upper-layer block mode(s) of the block modes is greater than the block mode.

    Abstract: A search apparatus and search method of prediction mode having direction are provided. The apparatus and method can be applied to intra-prediction of video processing. An initial prediction mode is quickly selected based on a distribution of directional energy values. A plurality of first-stage prediction modes are obtained by spreading out from the initial prediction mode. A fine adjustment is processed according to the prediction mode of a neighboring block. The coding costs of the first-stage prediction modes are calculated and then the prediction mode with the lowest coding cost is selected. Therefore, a total calculation amount is reduced.

    Abstract: An intra-prediction mode optimization method and image compression method/device are disclosed. To properly determine an intra-prediction mode for a target block of an image, a control block is selected from reference blocks of the target block, and an intra-prediction mode adopted in the control block is regarded as a control mode. Assuming that the target block is encoded according to the control mode as well, the prediction efficiency of the target and control blocks is assessed. When the intra-prediction efficiency, under the control mode, of the target block is better than that of the control block, the control mode is determined to be the intra-prediction mode of the target block and an intra-prediction pattern of the target block can be obtained. Otherwise, another one of the reference blocks is selected to be the control block and the control mode is refreshed, to repeat the intra-prediction efficiency assessment.

The encrypted stream is decrypted by a DRM composer from top layer to bottom layer. A full or partial multimedia service is then presented. For a multimedia service application, this enhances the DRM protection by increasing the complexity of multimedia encryption for a multimedia service application. It also provides the variety for the multimedia service application via different compositions of multimedia objects. The DRM protection structure is embedded into each layer of multimedia services and objects and can be set up different levels of DRM protection.
