Abstract: A fishing reel includes a housing, a spool, a first brake device, and a second brake device. The first brake device is operable to apply a first braking force to brake the rotation of the spool in a direction of unwinding a fishing line from the spool. The fishing line can be unwound from the spool only when an external force transmitted onto the spool via the fishing line is larger than the first braking force. The second brake device is operable to apply a second braking force to brake the rotation of the spool in the direction. The second braking force is smaller than the first braking force and the weight of a lure attached to the fishing line.

Abstract: A fishing rod includes a longitudinal tube body, a vibration sensing unit including at least one elongated vibration sensing element mounted longitudinally on the tube body, and a butt guide mounted on the tube body and adapted to guide a fishing string. The butt guide is disposed over the vibration sensing element to transfer vibration movements of the fishing string to the vibration sensing element. A method for making the fishing rod is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method for selecting an audio source when capturing audio data with at least one capture device includes connecting an audio source to an audio input port of the capture device, turning off the output of the audio source, calculating first signal strengths of the audio signals detected through the audio input ports of the capture device, turning on the output of the audio source, calculating second signal strengths of the audio signals detected through the audio input ports of the capture device, calculating a signal change between the first signal strength and the second signal strength of each audio input port, and selecting the audio input port with the largest signal change.

The processor is in communication with the memory, and the processor is adapted to receive a given work of multimedia content and implement the supplemental information module to generate a supplemental information record, which includes supplemental information related to the given work of content. The processor is also adapted to generate an enhanced work of content by embedding the supplemental information record into a bit stream comprising the given work of content.

Abstract: A method for detecting and a method for treating a cell proliferative disorder associated with glutathione-S-transferase (GSTP1) expression is provided. The method includes direct detection of a hypermethylated GSTP1 promoter, or indirect detection of decreased GSTP1 mRNA or GSTP1 protein in a suspect tissue sample.
