    Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device, an underlying structure is formed over a substrate. A film is formed over the underlying structure. Surface topography of the film is measured and the surface topography is stored as topography data. A local etching is performed by using directional etching and scanning the substrate so that an entire surface of the film is subjected to the directional etching. A plasma beam intensity of the directional etching is adjusted according to the topography data.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes ultrasound systems configured to enhance flow imaging and analysis by adaptively adjusting one or more imaging parameters in response to acquired flow measurements. Example systems can include an ultrasound transducer and one or more processors. Using the system components, mean flow velocity magnitude and acceleration can be determined within a target region during an acquisition phase, which may include a cardiac cycle. One or more adjusted flow imaging parameters, such as adjusted ensemble length, temporal smoothing filter length and/or step size, can be determined based on the acquired flow measurements to increase the signal quality of newly acquired ultrasound echo signals. The adjusted flow imaging parameters can then be applied by the ultrasound transducer during a second acquisition phase.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to, in part, an inductor structure that includes an etch stop layer arranged over an interconnect structure overlying a substrate. A magnetic structure includes a plurality of stacked layers is arranged over the etch stop layer. The magnetic structure includes a bottommost layer that is wider than a topmost layer. A first conductive wire and a second conductive wire extend in parallel over the magnetic structure. The magnetic structure is configured to modify magnetic fields generated by the first and second conductive wires. A pattern enhancement layer is arranged between the bottommost layer of the magnetic structure and the etch stop layer. The pattern enhancement layer has a first thickness, and the bottommost layer of the magnetic structure has a second thickness that is less than the first thickness.

    Abstract: A method, for determining constraints related to a target circuit, includes following operations. First circuit speed results of the target circuit under different candidate constraint configurations are accumulated. Breakthrough probability distributions relative to each of the candidate constraint configurations are determined according to the first circuit speed results. First selected constraint configurations are determined from the candidate constraint configurations by sampling the breakthrough probability distributions. A first budget distribution is determined among the first selected constraint configurations. In response to that the first budget distribution is converged, the first selected constraint configurations in the first budget distribution is utilized for implementing the target circuit and generating an updated circuit speed result of the target circuit.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus of motion compensation using the bi-directional optical flow (BIO) techniques are disclosed. According to one method of the present invention, the BIO process is applied to encode or decode bi-directional current block in Merge mode only or in AMVP (advanced motion vector prediction) mode only. According to another method, the BIO process conditionally to encode or decode the current block depending on a jointly-coded flag if the current block is coded using a bi-prediction mode. According to yet another method, x-offset value vx and y-offset value vy for the current block are added to the current motion vector to form a final motion vector. The final motion vector is then used as a reference motion vector for following blocks. In still yet another method, the BIO process is applied to the chroma component.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes ultrasound systems and methods configured to determine stiffness levels of anisotropic tissue. Systems can include an ultrasound transducer configured to acquire echoes responsive to ultrasound pulses transmitted toward anisotropic tissue having an angular orientation with respect to a nominal axial direction of the transducer. Systems can also include a beamformer configured to control the transducer to transmit a push pulse along a steering angle for generating a shear wave in the anisotropic tissue. The steering angle can be based on the angular orientation of the tissue. The transducer can also be controlled to transmit tracking pulses. Systems can also include a processor configured to store tracking line echo data generated from echo signals received at the transducer. In response to the echo data, the processor can detect motion within the tissue caused by propagation of the shear wave and measure the velocity of the shear wave.
