  • Publication number: 20120233427
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention provides a data storage device and data management method thereof. The data storage device is coupled to a host, and includes a storage media having data sectors for storing data and a controller. The controller is coupled to the storage media for sequentially receiving one or more read commands and corresponding one or more logical addresses thereto, reads a plurality of first data sectors from the storage media according to the read commands and the corresponding logical addresses, outputs data of the first data sectors to the host, calculates a valid duration required for the one or more read commands, calculates an average data throughput according to the number of the first data sectors and the valid duration, and determines whether the average data throughput exceeds a predetermined threshold. When the average data throughput exceeds the predetermined threshold, the controller performs a blocking procedure to prevent the storage media from being accessed.

  • Publication number: 20120153891
Abstract: In a method of providing operating current to a portable electronic apparatus, a first connection terminal of the portable electronic apparatus is connected to a second connection terminal of a host, and interface type of the second connection terminal is determined. If the interface type is USB 2.0, the host provides a first operating current to the portable electronic apparatus for performing data read/write, and an internal rechargeable battery of the portable electronic apparatus provides a second operating current to the portable electronic apparatus. If the interface type is USB 3.0, the host provides a third operating current to the portable electronic apparatus for performing data read/write, and the third operating current selectively performs a charge process on the rechargeable battery. If the interface type is Wi-Fi, the rechargeable battery provides a fourth operating current to the portable electronic apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7970973
Abstract: A reciprocating plug detector is configured at the connector of a portable device and is pushed to generate a control signal when the portable device is plugged into a host system. A controller of the portable device then performs a command when receiving the control signal. When the portable device is unplugged from the host system, the reciprocating plug detector may also be used for generating the control signal and before the portable device totally leaves the host system, the controller performs other pre-defined command during these few milliseconds. The portable device is implemented with a variety of computer controllability and provided with power-failure protection for data.

  • Patent number: 7339794
Abstract: A stacked memory module is manufactured in mirror image arrangement and a method for the same. The pins of a first memory unit and pins of a second memory unit are electrically connected to an upper face and a lower face of a first printed circuit board made of rigid material. The pins of the second memory unit are in mirror image arrangement with respect to the pins of the first memory unit. Two second PCBs are made of flexible material and electrically connected to both sides of the first PCB. Conductive contacts such as gold fingers are electrically connected to circuit on the second PCB. The manufacture cost is reduced and manufacture process is simplified. The signal quality is enhanced because the signal paths are uniform and the load impedance is reduced.
