Abstract: A portable electronic device includes a main body defining a locking hole therein and an auxiliary body having a latch therein. The latch includes a button, a slider, and a spring member positioned between the button and the auxiliary body. The slider includes a locking portion retractably inserted into the locking hole. The slider is slidably engaged with the button in a manner that when the button is pressed along a first direction, the slider is pushed by the button to slide along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, thereby retracting the locking portion from the locking hole. The spring member is for elastically loading the button in a third direction opposite to the first direction.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus includes a first body, a second body, a pivot set for hinging the second body to the first body and a torsion spring. The pivot set includes a pivot seat and a pivot extending from the pivot seat. The pivot seat is detachably secured to the first body. The pivot rotatably extends into the second body. The torsion spring includes a fixing end thereof fixed to the second body, and a sliding end thereof slidably pressing against the first body.

Abstract: A storage medium player includes a base defining a medium-receiving area, a driving device mounted in the base for driving a medium, a cover pivotably attached to the base adjacent one side of the medium-receiving area, and a safety device mounted in the base adjacent an opposite side of the medium-receiving area. The safety device is capable of being switched between an activated state and a deactivated state upon pivoting the cover with respect to the base. When the cover is closed, the safety device is in the activated state and the driving device is enabled. When the cover is open, the safety device is in the deactivated state and the driving device is disabled.

Abstract: A disc player includes a base, a lid rotatably pivoted to the base, and an opening and closing mechanism secured to the base. The opening and closing mechanism includes a compression spring providing a restoration force and a pushing button for applying a pushing force thereon. The pushing button includes a locking portion for releasing the lid from the base and for clasping the lid to the base, and at least one wedged potion for interfering in one end of the compression spring to fix the compression spring.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a main body and a cover. The main body includes a back edge and defines a limiting slot at the back edge thereof. The main body forms a stop portion at the limiting slot. The cover is pivotally connected to the back edge of the main body. The cover includes a limiting member extending into the limiting slot. The limiting member including a peripheral surface is configured for cooperating with the stop portion to prevent the cover from over rotating.

Abstract: A digital disc player includes a main body, a lid pivotally connected to the main body, and a switch mounted on the main body. The lid defines a recessed portion at one corner thereof and a hook is formed at the recessed portion. The switch includes a base through which the switch mounted on the main body, an end portion capable of moving in a horizontal direction relative to the base. When the lid is in a closed position, the hook engages the end portion. When the lid is in an open position, the hook exits from the end portion.

Abstract: A lock mechanism for a digital video player includes an elastic component, a switch, a main body, and a lid pivotally connected to the main body. The switch forms a switch button, a catch and a post for supporting the elastic component. The main body includes a cover and a housing. The cover defines a through hole thereon. The housing mounts at least one support for slideably supporting the switch, a stop plate connecting with the elastic component, and a second notch for accommodating the switch button. The lid mounts a hook on the bottom surface thereof corresponding to the through hole and being capable of hooking the catch when the lid is locked.

Abstract: A hinge assembly for a disc player includes a housing having a shaft-receiving portion and a lid. The hinge assembly includes at least one supporting portion secured to the lid and at least one torsional spring surrounding the second portion. The supporting portion includes a shaft formed thereon, and a hole defined therein. The shaft includes a first portion coupled to the shaft-receiving portion and an opposite second portion. The torsional spring includes first and second ends, the first ends being coupled to the housing, the second ends thereof being engaged in the hole of the supporting portion. A disc player incorporating said hinge assembly is also provided.

Abstract: A casing (10) for a disk player includes a housing (12), a lid (14) movable with respect to said housing between an open position and a closed position, and a resilient member (64). The housing houses a disk playing mechanism of said disk player, and defines two cavities (620, 622) and a buffer (624). The lid has a supporting member (60) being extendable into a first one of the cavities and being engageable with said buffer so as to buffer movement of said lid with respect to said housing. The resilient member is installed in a second one of the cavities, so as to resiliently provide movement of said lid with respect to said housing.

Abstract: A hinge assembly for a media player having a main body and a cover body, includes a first hinge subassembly. The first hinge subassembly includes a first base plate adapted to be secured to the main body of the media player, a first joint axle secured to the first base plate, a first hinge arm adapted to be secured to the cover of the media player, several resilient bushings surrounding the first joint axle and arranged adjacent the first end of the first hinge arm, and an adjustable fastener coupled to the first joint axle for exerting an adjustable force applied to the first end of the first hinge arm. The first hinge arm has a first end pivotally coupled to the first joint axle. The adjustable fastener is positioned to generate a friction force between the first end of the first hinge arm and the at least one resilient bushing, and the friction force is sufficient to overcome gravitational force acting on the cover of the media player.

Abstract: An optical reproducing/recording apparatus (1) includes a chassis (11) with a first seat (17) and three second seats (16), a turntable (12), an optical pickup head (13) and a guide device (15). The turntable is located on the chassis for rotating an optical disk positioned thereon. The guide device has a first and second beams (151, 152). An end of the first beam is fixed on the first seat, the other end of the first beam and two ends of the second beam are respectively fixed on the second seats by an adjustable device (18). Each second seat has a groove for accommodating the beam and each adjustable device comprises an elastic element (182) and an adjustable element (181). The elastic element is positioned between the beam and a bottom of the groove and the adjustable element fixes the beam in the groove against a side of said groove.
