    Abstract: A portable electronic device includes a main body defining a locking hole therein and an auxiliary body having a latch therein. The latch includes a button, a slider, and a spring member positioned between the button and the auxiliary body. The slider includes a locking portion retractably inserted into the locking hole. The slider is slidably engaged with the button in a manner that when the button is pressed along a first direction, the slider is pushed by the button to slide along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, thereby retracting the locking portion from the locking hole. The spring member is for elastically loading the button in a third direction opposite to the first direction.

The safety device is capable of being switched between an activated state and a deactivated state upon pivoting the cover with respect to the base. When the cover is closed, the safety device is in the activated state and the driving device is enabled. When the cover is open, the safety device is in the deactivated state and the driving device is disabled.

When the lid is in a closed position, the hook engages the end portion. When the lid is in an open position, the hook exits from the end portion.

The first hinge subassembly includes a first base plate adapted to be secured to the main body of the media player, a first joint axle secured to the first base plate, a first hinge arm adapted to be secured to the cover of the media player, several resilient bushings surrounding the first joint axle and arranged adjacent the first end of the first hinge arm, and an adjustable fastener coupled to the first joint axle for exerting an adjustable force applied to the first end of the first hinge arm. The first hinge arm has a first end pivotally coupled to the first joint axle. The adjustable fastener is positioned to generate a friction force between the first end of the first hinge arm and the at least one resilient bushing, and the friction force is sufficient to overcome gravitational force acting on the cover of the media player.

The elastic element is positioned between the beam and a bottom of the groove and the adjustable element fixes the beam in the groove against a side of said groove.
