  • Patent number: 8040325
Abstract: Methods are provided for base capacitance compensation of traces in a touchpad sensor. Compensation areas are calculated by evaluating the differences between the base capacitances of the traces, or the differences between the base capacitances of the traces and a target value. The compensation areas are electrically connected to respective traces to equalize the base capacitances of the traces. Alternatively, a relationship between the areas of the traces and the distances from the traces to a grounding layer for equalizing the base capacitances of the traces is derived and from which the areas of the traces or the position of the grounding layer are adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20070103450
Abstract: A touch control bar with button function comprises a plurality of scroll sensor areas and at least a button sensor area disposed between two adjacent ones of the scroll sensor areas. On the touch control bar, a virtual button is defined over an area covering at least a button sensor area. The gesture on the touch control bar will determine which function between button and scroll is to be performed.

  • Publication number: 20070070049
Abstract: For a compensation to the sensed capacitive values of a touchpad sensor, the variance profile of the base capacitance or the sensed capacitive values of the traces in the touchpad sensor is determined, and then a firmware operation based on the variance profile is carried out to modify the sensed capacitive values or the position value when an object touches on the touchpad sensor, such that the touchpad sensor operates as a symmetrical touchpad sensor does.

  • Publication number: 20070046648
Abstract: A touch sensor comprises a plurality of traces in a same sensing layer or in different sensing layers, and the base capacitances of the traces are made uniform by connecting one or more compensation areas to one or more of the traces or selecting the distances between the grounding layer and one or more of the traces. The compensation area and the trace it compensates may or may not in a same layer.

  • Patent number: 6295899
Abstract: A wrench includes a drive head having an opening and a number of notches each having an inclined surface. The inclined surfaces each has one end located closer to the center of the head and the other end distal to the center of the head. A barrel is rotatably received in the head and has a bore for receiving a fastener and has a number of channels for receiving a drive insert each. The sliding engagement of the drive inserts with the inclined surfaces of the head may adjust the drive inserts into and out of the bore of the barrel to engage with fasteners of different sizes.
